Has it improved for you? I had the same issue on Jan 29-30 for some reason it was totally unplayable on Singtel. Is it OK now? Seems OK for me now.Hi! Am a player in Singapore with connection issues that have only gotten worse and worse since 6.31 dropped.
I play on Crystal DC. The lag was not too problematic at first. Just a bit of spikes here and there. In the last 2 or 3 days they have gotten so bad (up to 20s long lag spikes or more) that the game is now literally unplayable; currently I cannot even log in without:
1) getting disconnected trying to access the character selection screen, or
2) getting lag disconnecting within a minute after logging into the game
I have tested the following:
1) Pinged the Crystal DC (result was 203ms which is normal for me)
2) Pinged my ISP server (result was also normal for me)
3) Restarted my router, modem, computer
4) Made sure my drivers are up to date
Note that while FFXIV suffers from extreme connection issues for me, general internet usage (and other games) do NOT have these issues.
Details about my set up:
Windows 10, wired internet connection, using STEAM FFXIV client.
Really hoping the dev/ tech team takes notice. I cannot even log in as of today.
I am also on Singtel. Totally unplayable on Jan 29-30, but it's getting better recently. How about you?Are you on Singtel by any chance? Been having a lot of issues with FFXIV the past week and seeing some packet losses/timeouts on some of the hops when running a traceroute to the NA servers (https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...a451d5a8daa66f). Like yourself, other games/streaming media/internet usage seems fine.
Singtel as well. Started having issues on 28 Jan and it's been consistently bad all the way until now. A lot of packet loss, resulting in GCDs not registering and crafting macros failing, even opening party finder takes about 30 seconds to load.
I've even changed my internet cable, so it shouldn't be an issue with my hardware.

It was okay for about 5 days! Until just. Got disconnected and now I can't even get into the character screen again hmm.... (The lobby server connection has encountered an error - 2002)
I'm playing from Poland and I also have the issue, in my case it's wireless connection from T-Mobile ISP. Tried to trace the EU Datacenter IP just like in the post and had 3 times shown request timed out so something must be wrong for sure.
I've tried VPN and try to connect to Japan. It helps some during the worst timing. Let us know if there's anything else that works.Singtel as well. Updating this again. Yesterday my connection was fine and stable. Today the lag got worse and worse to the point I just got disconnected.
Similar experience. Yesterday I had one disconnect symbol appear on my character but then everything was stable. Tonight I am lagging constantly and my GCD will not roll correctly.
Beyond frustrated at this point it’s almost been a month.
