    I have no idea what this video is going on about, but it fails to highlight the difference in my opinion.

    By default, using A or D in legacy mode will cause the camera to stay in the same location, but rotate to follow the character (causing he character to run around in circle). With camera pivot disabled, the camera will keep the same rotation, and instead move to follow the character (causing the character to run in a straight line, as if you were holding LMB).
    He literally does what I said at 00:16
    He turns the camera while continuing to walk in a straight line.
    Without autorun!

    BTW, I replaced A and D with strafe left and strafe right, but that has nothing to do with what he is capable of doing in the video.
    But I know what you mean.

    He's not saying he isn't auto running, he's saying he could do it without auto running. I believe the highlight of that clip was supposed to be the character running in a perfectly straight line, not the camera turning around it; I don't think it's possible to achieve this camera rotation without autorun.

    You've linked a video from January 7th. 6.3 wasn't even out at that time. It's actually impossible for him to be doing what you are claming. You can also very obviously see Xeno looking downwards at his keyboard to find the auto run button before the moment you've timestamped.

    Camera Pivot does indeed refer to what Estecka explained to you. I'll repeat one more time. What you want is only achievable in standard movement setting, where "forward" always remains in the direction your character model is facing. It's fundamentally incompatible with legacy's "forward is where your camera is facing".

    In re: camera pivot
    Prior to Patch 6.3, if you pressed Move Left / Move Right, your character would move to the left or right but the camera would turn against that direction slightly, producing a large arc movement. Patch 6.3's option to disable the legacy camera pivot makes it so that when you move left and right the camera does not swing around you, so you move in a straight line.
