I just spoke with a rep over live chat. This issue is known, but currently unknown as to why it's happening. The only answer I can add to this convo that hasn't been added yet is this from our live chat.

Yes, there was a recent technical issue involving server equipment that affected multiple Primal Data Center Worlds. Although our team has investigated the issue and resolved it, there is a chance that the communication conflicts with regards to the login status of characters on the affected Worlds have not yet been resolved.

Yes, we have recently received multiple similar reports with regards to this specific issue. At this time we may need to wait for the various servers to sync before access to the affected characters may be resolved. Fortunately there is a planned emergency maintenance tonight.

Edit: This ended up being a fix that only worked 1x for me so far, trying to do the exact same thing to log back in failed with same 90002 error. I'm thinking I just got lucky and it was coincidence it was Famfrit. Sorry to get hopes up!


SOoooo, I checked through this thread and notice that nobody from Famfrit or Leviathan had posted yet so it got me curious, are they not having issues? I figured I would test something out:

-Tried logging into my char on home world (Excal): 90002 error like always.
-Restarted and got to character select screen and chose World Visit (NOT Data center travel), it auto selected the world as Behemoth.
-Tried to select World Visit again (trying to get a roll for Leviathan or Famfrit) gave message to wait awhile before trying again.
-Not long passed and it gave me message of World Visit to Famfrit successful.
-Tried logging in... WORKED.

This is first time I've been able to successfully log in to Primal. Gonna do a few things before testing to see if I can world visit from aetheryte back to home world of Excalibur.

I hoping everything will be fixed tonight with emergency maint but I'm restless and like poking at broken things.

It worked!
I don't know if I'm just lucky or if this is a temp work around but I am back home on Excal for this first time since patch. I was able to jump from Famfrit to Excal using the Aetheryte in Grid using the Visit Another World Server option.

Edit: I was able to check retainers, go in housing, teleport normally, everything seemed perfect working order. For science, I logged back out to see if it fixed my character.

It did not.

I got same 90002 error logging into Excalibur and now am trying to walk through the hopeful workaround again but already hit a snag... Leviathan did not work either. I'm trying to roll for Famfrit again since that is the one that worked the first time.

Edit2: I got another Famfrit roll FINALLY but... It did not work. ):
It must have been a lucky login. I'll try a few other worlds for fun but I'm thinking its random now lol. Still a lot of hope that maint will fix this!

I tried this solution. I never got famfrit but I got leviathan a couple times and it didn't work. After 26 attempts I got in but I got in on Lamia

Yeah at this point I think it just random if you get in, I was hoping for a constant workaround. ):

But because of your post I tried multiple time to get straight into Excalibur (my home world) when it rolled it and on the 6th or 7th try got in! All other tries were still 90002.

Done poking at broken things, I'm gonna try to stay logged in til maint and hope it fixes it.

I need access to my retainers, island and gathering nodes so home world is the only choice for me, otherwise it's useless.

Just hope this upcoming maintenance will actually solve this crap, since the last one didn't.

well 8th times the charm for me today. Kept getting the error, and decided based on what I saw in this thread that it can be random.

Tried eight times in a row and it finally let me in! I wish you all luck and hope this issue can be solved soon.

Having the same issue. Started out of the blue last night after playing all day long, I got disconnected and now I cannot login to any Primal worlds. I can manage to get into other Data Centers just fine, but with the limitations in playing in another DC I can't do anything I need on them, so basically I can't play the game aside from being afk there.

Tried using a VPN, flushing DNS, verifying the game's integrity, and all the usual useless measures. Nothing helped.

After moving to another Data Center and trying to get back to Primal, my character's position was changed to my home city's aetheryte, as that's what happens when you do that, but I still face the same issue. So it's not a matter of the character being stuck in a glitched location or something. All Primal worlds are affected, not just my home world.

There was a post yesterday saying it was caused by server equipment but that it has been solved (https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...bb74399cb05e35). However it's clearly not completely resolved.

Word for word, I tried all the same things you did trying to get back on. Still nothing.
