    Cannot log a specific character in.

    I just got off the phone with Tech support who told me to post here. The Agent I spoke with was Justin.

    Ticket number was [t1621532:bb0e] Cannot Log in, error 30002

    I have to Justin's satisfaction literally exhausted everything Tech support can tell me to do.

    I have tried to log on from both my laptop and desktop in South-Central Kentucky, Central Michigan, and had a friend of mine try to log in from Ontario Canada.

    All attempts to log into this character result in Error 30002, while any other characters on the account can be logged into just fine.

    I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game, I have deleted the FFXIV User folder, I have called my cable company to look into things (as well as attempted in various locations)

    I've tried forwarding the router ports as well:

    UDP - 55296 - 55551
    TCP - 54992 - 55551
    UDP - 443

    No success. I've also tried disabling anti-virus and firewalls. Nothing.

    The agent I spoke with said he made some notes on my ticket, and said that the only thing I can do is make a post here and hope that an investigation on this problem is launched.

    Tech support can't touch characters and GMs won't do anything unless a character is logged in, so he said the only solution is to ask on here for a back-end investigation.


    The last time this character was successfully logged in was back in January before billing started. I let the account go inactive because I didn't have time to play at that point. I recently reactivated the account to play during the summer.

    I am sorry to hear about the troubles you're having trying to log into a character. We appreciate you reporting the issue with details. Unfortunately the server is currently down but could you try to log in again after the game comes back online? If you are still unable to log in please make another post on this thread.

    The problem still persists after the game came back up. I Can't log into Lusavari, but Kyrisha works fine, and last month during the welcome back campaign, I could log into my characters Varizio and Oclesia too (I haven't reactivated them like my other 2 characters.)

    When I try to log into Lusavari, it goes to the loading screen and the music never changes from the Crystal Prelude, and after about 45 seconds the music stops and an "error 30002, an error has occurred on the game server" pops up. If I try my other character, she works like she should and I can log in.

    I reactivated Lusavari at the beginning of May and have not been able to log into him at all.

    I've already been through Phone Tech Support though... They can't do anything. They told me to post in In-game bugs. As is stated in my OP, EVERYTHING that Tech support can offer has been exhausted.

    Furthermore, I've made a post in Tech support before, and I've seen NO results from it. I made it last month.

    We’d like to apologize for the problems you are experiencing. Based on your description of the problem there may be something related to your connection causing this issue. Many MMORPG’s problems which are specific to characters, in certain zones are caused by some communication issue between your client and the game server. This could be either some specific program on your computer blocking inbound communication from the game server, such as an anti-virus or firewall or something related to your connectivity hardware i.e. router, switches or hybrid modems. Anti-virus programs and firewalls are there to protect your system against attacks and they will scan/monitor incoming data packets possibly filtering or removing them completely. Many routers and hybrid modems will also block inbound communication and as a result these things can interfere with your online game-play.

    We would suggest trying to temporarily disable these programs and testing the problem again and also if you are connecting to a wireless network; try hardwiring your connection directly to the modem, if at all possible, to troubleshoot the problem.

    However, if you feel have exhausted all of our live and online support recommendations, and if you feel that you are experiencing a bug with the game, then the matter should be brought to the attention of the Development Team by submitting a bug report via the support center: Please submit bug report on FINAL FANTASY XIV here.

    How can it be his connection if he's able to log using a different character?

    =< Nope. I called Tech support yesterday and asked to speak to a Supervisor. I keep ending up talking to Agent Justin, and he's a pretty nice guy. He said he talked to the supervisors on my behalf to find out what was going on here. He said he's also trying to move this on to the engineers himself since I'm not seeing any help here.
