I have a mild interest in seeing if certain suspicions are confirmed in 6.4, but really, I'm more just anxious to see what the context of this "great change" coming in 6.5 is going to be.

I hardly think 14 is perfect by any stretch of the imagination. and you are expected to think its bad because EVERYONE hates it.I mean, if we're trying to say that "perfection" is a requirement to post an opinion about FFXIV, then the forums should really just be dead.
On topic, I also have found the story boring, and found myself playing it once to go through it with friends and haven't had any desire to go through even the dungeons since. It's a shame, because it would be nice to enjoy the writing, but it's just not working for me. Thus, I pvp.
in fact the issue is more the blanket announcements by the OP. the implied statements that they could do far superior work, which is fine, I mean its the internet so making declarations you cant or never be expected to back up is run of the mill.
the basic truth is they left to play other I assume better games, and then spent money and came back.. expecting an about face in game direction in a between expansion patch. not going to put a big shine on it, but thats basically insane. they are between arcs and personally, as long as I am relatively enjoying playing, I expect a lot of likely dull setup and loose ends tying. maybe a lot of buuz and burgers.. who knows
I left WoW because I didnt like the direction.. if you hate something as much as the OP says they do, you dont spend 15 to jump back in, you read reviews, talk to people still playing or even visit the forums or their new source.. reddit. at this point, their only reason to come back and spend 15 is to post on the forums for attention it appears. their is little other reason with their view of the game to return.
It's quite telling when the state of the Source is so utterly boring that the only solutions are either to Shard hop to a more interesting world or cause a semi-rejoining in order to bring in something worth paying attention to. If neither ends up happening and they ship us off to some other scattered set of zones with hardly any relation to each other in 7.0 I don't see myself being able to care for it.
I retain that an Ilsabard focused expansion set within a logical area would be the best thing to ground Season 2 with and carry on from there, especially if they end up giving new players the ability to start in 7.0 because goodness knows not even the most diehard Final Fantasy fans will be able to set aside the time commitment to play through 100s of hours of MSQ to get to decent gameplay anymore.
Авейонд-сны
So now the issue is we are exploring other worlds that are related to FFXIVs overall Lore....the Shards...
Lol, this guys insane.
You mean your fanfic about a pretty blonde super special Garlean OC with a Hrothgar name instead of a Garlean one and title that doesn't exist somehow claiming the throne despite it being against her culture?
And despite all characterization beforehand, Venat is suddenly turned into Azem's crazed murderer and everything about her is vile and evil just because you don't like her?
Completely lacking in subtlety, every new character feels like Aveyond's mouthpiece rather than their own unique person, and plot points are self-indulgent to the extreme and that's saying a lot considering Heavensward only had dinosaurs in it because Banri Oda really likes dinosaurs.
Lore is ignored in exchange for special OCs, Al-Cid is straight up ripped out of FFXII but removed of "flamboyance", whole swaths of story are also ripped straight out of FFXII like the Bahamut falling towards a city and 2 people staying behind to drop it safely (and how is the rest of the flotilla intended to remain a permanent zone?), and characters seemingly stop and look at the camera to talk about how "democracy is bad, actually".
Anything to crap on the game. He wasn't saying that about ShadowBringers NOW all of a sudden it's an issue that we're doing things in another world. If HW took place in the void I bet he wouldn't say this. At this point I'm over trying to reason with this dude. It's all pathetic
I'm convinced one his goal is to divide the folks here and create fights to use as evidence about the games fanbase. I want no part

He’s still suffering from Yshtola rejecting Magnai, it affected him so much that he wants to erase the game as it isplease be more understanding
Now that's certainly not true; you are definitely not expected to think that any part of FFXIV is bad, because, if that were true, that's what all the advertisements would be saying rather than gloating about winning the "greatest online community" award.
Let's not assume that there is only hatred. Typically, complaints are usually a sign of deep-seeded belief that things have the potential to improve, or have, at one point, been at a place that was deemed better. It's not always just a display of hatred for the sake of hatred.
The trick there is, unless you're just looking to have a bit of fun, it's probably better to not put meaning in other peoples' words if they aren't actually there, simply because, if there isn't any, then you've given them more substance with which to stand on. This is, of course, a good thing if you intend on keeping them around.in fact the issue is more the blanket announcements by the OP.
Miss Manners would say that, if anything, we should assume that the post was made with the good intention of sharing disappointment as feedback for the development team, which is what this forum is advertised as existing for.I left WoW because I didnt like the direction.. if you hate something as much as the OP says they do, you dont spend 15 to jump back in, you read reviews, talk to people still playing or even visit the forums or their new source.. reddit. at this point, their only reason to come back and spend 15 is to post on the forums for attention it appears. their is little other reason with their view of the game to return.
Madame Cynical would say that, if anything, we should assume that he's just posted to create a sensation, and everyone's just fed into it.
And little ol' Aylin would say that, if anything is to be said, make sure it's fun for yourself regardless of assumptions and outcomes.
If we're just going to assume things, let it be one or the other, and nothing in between. It saves on effort, grief, and ever-dwindling server space.
On that subject, I, too, am tired of Yshtola. I was actually hoping we'd spend time seeing other people, and it is a part of what's disappointed me for the story currently. It would have been nice if everyone scattered to parts unknown only to return at a later date to help out with a dire situation that is somehow related to each of the things they were focused on. Preferably much later. Like at the end of the next expansion, leading up to 8.0.

I honestly wish we could be given a side quest just for Magnai to help him with his love life. Yesterday, I wound up making a Magnai Wind Up minion and from the description on it, his own clan brothers started making little minions of their leader to help lure in some potential waifus.
Magnai desperately needs a wing man and who better than the WoL!? We would be the ultimate wing man!!!! Plus, maybe Aliphnaud, Thancred, G'raha and Urianger could tag along with us for comedy relief.
