It's very funny to read about it, because you haven't played this Deep Dungeon yet, but you already know it's going to be bad... because of the weapons???I do not plan on returning for 6.35 since an Allagan Deep Dungeon with neon blue and white weapons no one asked for is the last thing I wanted to see, combined with KPOP Loporrits desecrating the moon further with Zodiark’s grave right on their doorstep. If anything I’ve said about sounds familiar, it’s because my positions regarding these matters remain unchanged and I strongly believe it is in the game’s best interest to push back against some of these longstanding issues that to this day remain unresolved.

The weapons were shown off in the trailer and they were about as unimpressive as the hairstyle they showed off. The jobs I wanted to level are levelled to 90 by now. I have no weapon to look forward to like in previous Deep Dungeons where I actively pursued multiple of them. The storyline for this one involves a character that I cannot stand along with some random catgirl. I’m not going to subject myself to that experience.

Isnt...that kind of the point? 6.0 wrapped up the threads from before. Msq is going in another direction. Literally it's slated as a brand new adventure and that's somehow a...bad thing for being as such?Think my issue with the post Endwalker story is that it doesn't feel like it has much to do with anything that happened in Endwalker. Nothing that happened in Endwalker has much baring on whats going on so far, and nothing with golbez or the shadowrealm have a lot to do with Endwalker's story. Its just arbitrary connections that Zero used to be Zeno's stand, theres no real narritve follow through with that
You can't really say that about the post stories of Heavensward through Shadowbringers, So far what we've seen honestly could have just been a side story like they did with the weapon series. I pray that the next patch ends the Golbez plot line for good because I really don't see where they can go with it where it would actually feel worthwhile. It feels like we're in a filler arc right now.
Exploring a new world and dealing with its people there fits the bill perfectly and obviously whatever is going on is going to lead up to 7.0. It's almost like some of you have forgotten how these stories work. I say stop trying to predict the future and just see where it goes. And if you don't like it thus far there's a skip button waiting for some action
Also Aveyond you may not be back for 6.35 but you'll be back for the next story patch to complain about the same stuff. Stockholm with you n this game is mad powerful my dude. I honestly feel bad for you at this point. I'll make you a deal. Since the game is on a collision course with failure as you say I'll sing your praises if we don't make it til 7.0.

I thought in Deep Dungeon important is gameplay and arrange a kind of challenge solo to the last floor, rather than another instance, which you will abandon after a few hours for the sake of the weapon. There are plenty of weapons for all tastes, colors, and shapes. And if you do not like the story - skip and enjoy the dungeon. Be simpleThe weapons were shown off in the trailer and they were about as unimpressive as the hairstyle they showed off. The jobs I wanted to level are levelled to 90 by now. I have no weapon to look forward to like in previous Deep Dungeons where I actively pursued multiple of them. PS. all that wanted is one 90 SMN? Long lvl up him?
Considering how eager they were to sweep the Final Days under the rug, I'd be really surprised if any lasting or significant harm to the Source came of this whole debacle.
I'm mostly just hoping it's foreshadowing some greater underlying issue if something like shattering a boundary without a calamity is feasible now.
Lame.
On a side note, just because someone sword'n boards doesn't automatically make them a paladin.

He is definitely more shrowded but I dont think that's entirely unwarranted because elidibus tried to get into direct confrontation with us from the start. Golbez has up to now still been hiding behind his generals. I think this created the imo very well used oppurtunity to have the story explore which archfiends we got an echo vision on and which we didnt. It's the total lack of any clear suggestion as to the "how" that's bugging me.
Even him just making some vague statement as to what's going to make that possible is how you build suspense/intrigue. Having a simple declaration of intent alone doesn't really excite me.
His progression so far has basically been:
6.1:Wants to start a war for the 13th's salvation somehow.
6.2: Wants to start a war for the 13th's salvation that involves the moon somehow.
6.3: Wants to start a war for the 13th's salvation through death that involves the moon and breaking down the boundary to the source...somehow. Has Rubicante destroy the voidgate so we can't interfere for the time being.
Compare to Elidibus in 5.0, where his progression was:
5.0: Wants to end the Scions using warriors of light.
5.1: Takes Ardbert's body.
5.2: Starts masquerading as Ardbert, moves to build faith in the warriors of light, then awakens people to the Echo. We now have enough information to get the gears turning and start seriously questioning how he's going to execute his 5.0 scheme.
5.3: Is revealed to be a primal, at which point things clicked for a lot of people and understood why he was doing what he did.
The problem to me is that Golbez is not setting up anything for us to actually parse information from or at least try to in some meaningful capacity, and it's feeling like everything is just going to be dumped on us all at once in 6.4.
