The GBA version is still the best one and let's be honest if we get a Zeromus fight there is no way they aren't giving us a arrangement of it. Given it's all that have to give us before 7.0 happens.

We pretty much have Golbez/Azdaja, maybe fight the 4 Archfiends again and most definitely Zeromus. If they want to go a bit further on fanservice they can throw in the Creator from FF4:The After Years.

Nothing. Someone got their pantyhose all in a twist cause they didn't feel the Fiends got enough screen time. Then yelled at people for bringing up FF IV when they didn't bring it up. While completely missing the point that it's kind of weird to get all huffy about that when they didn't get much in the game they're a reference to. And putting way more stock into Edda than one probably should have in how memorable she was.

This has been a big topic amongst my friend group. Its not a coincidence that this entire expansion is heavily inspired by IV and we're literally going down the list of boss fights from IV. With all of that and knowing how things go with Golbez and subsequentially Zeromus (Zemus prior to his death and his emotions forming Zeromus) after that. if they don't pull that thread within the 6.x series, those threads will probably exist somehow..,

off the top of my head, it's possible we save the missing Dragon, but in exchange for something.., a reason to return.., but that's just random piecing a possibility of what we have to make a potential sense.

...that's not a bad thing, btw, I loved both of those expansions lol. CoP is my absolute fave out of XI anyway.

Oh so I'm your Renault. Sorry about that. You lasted longer than I did. And yeah with how we got the tale in ShB it felt as though some of the devs had just done a speed run of RotZ and CoP. As I went man this all feels like what happened in XI.

HAH, I do like Renalt but his posts have summed up my feelings about this entire thread so I haven't felt the need to comment.... until now. This is really the only thing worth commenting on since I refuse to give the OP the time of day.

Word for word when I saw the Tempest and they had been talking about the ancients and Zodiark and Hydaelyn being the oldest and most ancient of primals earlier was "so I'm playing FFXI RotZ/CoP, just in XIV?" and my friends (who also played XI) went ".....holy s[kupo]t you're right." It's not a bad thing, those were fun xpacs! The only thing we're truly missing is that the main spoken races are just aspects of what amounts to the 7 Deadly Sins and we'd really be just Vana'diel Lite.

I think the Four Fiends are decently written. Like, what we see of their past in the side quest is really good and lets us get an idea of their motives and what life was like during the Contramemoria (Its just a sin that all that is hidden in a side quest and not incorporated into the MSQ itself.) The writers just decided that they where not going to be long-term characters in whatever they have lined up. It sucks when that happens to characters you like (I still miss you Moenbryda...) but it happens. I wonder if the complaints about the Four Fiends would be the same if they where unique FFXIV creations, or if some are putting them on pedestals just because of their legacy.
