There's no similar sweeping over Taynor's situation. If you have not personally gotten involved in Cerigg's quest, Taynor is trapped in the rift until someone gets him out, and if that someone isn't you, then that starts raising messy narrative questions and creates an alternate narrative that is quite different from the canon one.

Yeeeeah... I get that but like... Couldn't you technically say the same about Alexander and Omega? They're not necessary for the MSQ but they are important... If you do the Twinning dungeon you learn that they were used for the crystal tower to be able to travel to the First. Who would've gotten them subdued if not for us?

Obviously there's no way they would make us do the job quests, but I still think they can include Taynor (and crew) and just assume that everything from the role quests happened regardless on if you did the quests or not. They could do slightly different variations of cutscenes.
I understand this is kind of hard because there's a lot to explain in case you didn't to the quests, but I think they could do it somehow. Honestly after seeing that Y'shtola cutscene where she explicitly ponders about a new way to travel to the 13th made me confident that they need to at least mention Taynor in the MSQ somehow...
But then again they're all on the First and the Scions have no means to reach them so it would be kinda weird to communicate, so maybe the way we're gonna find to the 13th has nothing to do with Taynor...

At this point I just want whenever Y'shtola finds a portal opening spell to have a dialogue option to have the WoL mention Taynor. My dream would be for the quest to have an optional step added in only if you unlocked the Role/Void Quest where halfway through whatever 'Y'shtola is finding the answer' bridge quest it is, your WoL is prompted to hop over to the Crystarium to talk to Taynor and Unukalhai and they write out the spell and had you a parchment note key item which you then return and hand over to Y'shtola. Which she then modifies to create her own portal-opening spell by combining it with restricted Sharlayan knowledge and old Allagan tech because, sigh, Allag tech. And if the player hasn't unlocked Taynor, the game dialogue glosses over that part and Y'shtola's new spell is implied to just be Sharlayan/Allag/'unspecified extra sources'.

Neat detail, the MSQ still makes multiple references to the WOL being a Reaper even if you play it as a different class. Did the whole thing as a Dragoon and it still did so.

In this case the references didn't feel very...natural as the characters in question had no direct association with the RPR job NPCs and thus would have no way of reliably knowing you were actually skilled in the craft short of waving your scythe/avatar around in front of them.

It's historically been people who are actually from the respective job questlines who mention your skills, such as A-ruhn mentioning your WHM proficiency in the pre-Garlemald bits.

Eh, the only non Scion who mentions it is Jullus, who grew up in the homeland of the Reapers, and was a high ranking officer in the home Legion. Makes sense he would notice.

It was fine if you ran Reaper in 6.0 then they saw you use Reaper arts plenty, canonically all jobs you have could've been one you ran MSQ on so they all count / factor into the continuation of the story so it's not really out of place.

As for re treading the 13th I feel like we're going back to Crystal Tower & just using it to re-open it's Void Gate & maybe we'll get to see Unei & Doga again & deal with WoD if they didn't finish her off.

What I really wonder is if Golbez is going to die or if he's going to be a character in 7.0. Not as the main villain but maybe as a secondary one.

Do you think our first battle with Golbez (probably in 6.4) is going to be our last? I don't know, I kinda feel like there's too much building up for it to just finish next patch or 6.5.

Difficult to tell at this point, but What I will say is I really hope that when we do finally face Golbez in battle it isn't us (the WoL) that does all the fighting. In my view that fight needs to be Vrtra's, and he needs to make a Golbez barbeque!

since Golbez said he has no need of minions anymore, I wonder if he'll show up on the source alone?
Plus can't remember were I heard this but I heard something big was suppose to happen in 6.5 that leads us into next expansion, wonder if Golbez will succeed at tearing the vail completely between the 13th & the Source?
