Might be some kind of meta joke about how NPCs can only repeat certain phrases?
They could also just be limited in their responses based on Hydaelyn's programming for them.

CT could open a gate to the void before that though, it did so during Allag's time and the ARR raids.Oh it's because we don't have the technology yet. Remember, the means to teleport through space and time and into the rift is not inherit of the Crystal Tower. It was a construct using a combination of Omega and Alexander which took many generations of the Ironworks to fully be grasped.
Did we disable that when we closed the Cloud of Darkness's gate? I honestly don't remember.
It feels like they're fast-tracking Zero's character development to make her part of the Trust group that much faster.
Which I'm. Okay? I'd rather we not rush, but this expansion's pacing is shot to hell anyway so why not.
Kinda miffed we've already burst through all four of the Archfiends, but it ended on a strong note with Rubicante at the very least. I refuse to acknowledge the "true" pronunciation of Cagnazzo.
That fissure was opened back when Xande made his pact with the void (during the Third Astral Era), but it was stopped in time due to Amon's magick. Once we came back from the World of Darkness the fissure closed, possibly because the Cloud of Darkness no longer could sustain it.
Now how did Xande manage to open a portal to the void and communicate with them in the first place? I think the Allagans probably started summoning voidsent, similar to how early ARR cults did, and eventually they summoned someone they could bargain with and it eventually led to the Cloud of Darkness creating the fissure or something.
Regardless of how he did it, it was probably using Allagan technology... I suppose the MSQ could go the route of us travelling to Azys Lla and trying to figure out how the Allagans did it, but we kinda already did a similar thing while looking for a means to cure tempering, so it would feel a little repetitive.

When I ran it with Trusts I got, "An equal to Drusilla... extraordinary..."What dialogue did you get? I think mine was something along the lines of:
"Excellent performance, perhaps even as good as Drusilla herself."
Which I presume I got because I've completed the Reaper quests. If you got something suggested a lesser performance, then have you yet to complete the Reaper quests?
I felt kinda cheated by Cagnazzo personally. Scarmiglione at least had a few quests and a solo fight tied to him, so I wasn't disappointed that he didn't get a Trial. Cagnazzo dies literally the same scene he's introduced.
Probably my only real gripe with this patch's story though.
Rubicante was excellent.
But every run with real people has resulted in one of two results so far, after about 7 or so runs.
"Performance Rank 7: Performance was admirable. Roughly equal to a Voidsent Warrior."
"Performance Rank 5: Performance was admirable. Roughly equal to a Voidsent Knight."
The Rank 5 kills were the speedier ones, always, so I'm thinking that the ranks are inverted. I.E. Lower Rank # = Better performance. It's pretty similar to Temple of the Fist, except in ToF, if you got hit with AOEs, you got damage down stacks, which more or less lowered your kill speed. With the 2nd boss in Manalis, you either get a dot or a vuln stack + doom which I guess lowers your group DPS since the healer has to Esuna it or you die.
The Rank 5 kills, killed her before she could start the second X shaped dashes (Scarecrow Chase, I think it's called).

When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
Random thought regarding the end of the MSQ…perhaps we may be going to the First to seek answers on how to get to the Thirteenth? Although I suppose thats unlikely given you need to do the job quests to encounter the only real characters who can help… still I will grab any chance of revisiting the First haha!
[hb]It was implied at the time that the portal collapsed on the Thirteenth's side after we defeated the Cloud. We might have the technology to open the voidgate again, but it might not lead anywhere.Oh, and a thought about the end of the MSQ.
Am I forgetting something obvious, or why can't we just use the Crystal Tower to go to the Void? None of the characters even brought it up which makes me think I am forgetting something about its voidgate capabilities being disabled.
It's not impossible to revisit and reassess that viability, but it's not just an open portal we're failing to make use of.
I was mentally chanting “Taynor, Taynor, we need Taynor and his buddy” during that final cutscene.Random thought regarding the end of the MSQ…perhaps we may be going to the First to seek answers on how to get to the Thirteenth? am enjoying this new patch very much so much to do.
