Isnt his name Elpis? I think I remember that he stated this when he saw the Elpis flower on the moon. And since he is not part of the convocation he would not have a "job" name.

He didn't say anything about his name, but told us that the flower was known as Elpis in his time.

Anyway, if he's involved in Myths then that sort of explains why his Tales From the Dawn story was so vague, but also further questions why it was worthwhile focusing on him instead of someone more definite.

On an unrelated note, apparently the new treasure dungeon drops Hyth and Hades minions! Do they do anything interesting with each other or the Venat minion?

I wonder if we are to derive any meaning from the raid names, which are a reference to the Three Graces in Greek mythology, daughters of Zeus. Is Zeus going to appear, is he the last unnamed god? An ancient whose original name was Zeus?

Thalia would be the name of the next raid, which is ironic considering we are going to fight Thaliak in Thalia. Thalia is the goddess of festivities, so my hunch is that the last raid boss will be fighting all of the Twelve in a big tournament-like endurance round. Since the gods specifically seem to think of these mock battles as great entertainment that brings them joy, perhaps this is a possibility.

I don't know if the Hyth and Hades minion interact. The only things I do know is on the island Hades sighs and Hyth goes he he. Which to me is just funny due to the clockwork Solus says I should be the one to sigh. I don't have them yet, but now I have a mighty need.

If the Watcher is to receive more attention and lore, whether as part of Myths or not, the only name I see fitting them is:

That would be awesome to me. The first thing that came to mind when I learned that the ancients had greek mythos names like Hades, Gaia, Hermes, was ask myself who could be the more famous deities like Zeus, Poseidon, Aphrodite. Having Zeus as one of the Twelve (now thirteen) would be I think the best way to introduce him as an important character, but we'll just have to wait and see.
And yes, I do think the final boss of the raid will be the watcher in his true form, whatever that may be.

The difficulty in naming someone in Amaurotian society 'Zeus' is that you'd expect them to be higher up in the rankings than Hades. 'Panoptes' is the Greek title for 'all-seeing' (from which the philosophical concept of the panopticon derives its name). I like the idea of the Twelve having come from more humble origins anyways. They seem more grounded.

I wouldn't go all-in on the greek pantheon.

It's always seemed to me like it was just a theme they ran with after they went with Hades being the true identity of Emet. Hades of course being a reoccurring Final Fantasy boss/summon, carrying on the theme of final bosses being notable classic FF characters. Ultima, KotR, Shinryu and Hades. Fanservice trumps all else.
Gaia of course has similar Final Fantasy precedence.
And then the combo is broken by Hythlodeus, greek inspired but not a greek god, entirely fictional.
And again by Venat, not a greek god, but a reference to FF12, just like the titles of the Fourteen.

So I would say that Final Fantasy precedence probably outweighs adherence to actual pantheon gods.
Hence my suggestion of:

Gerun. Related to Venat as leader of the Occuria in 12, and in their limited FF14 lore already, they're implied to be some kind of guiding figure who was around during the first astral era.

Not least, Zeus has well established lightning related powers. So if anything, it's probably the 'true name' of whoever became Rhalgr. Like how we've had a hint at the true identities of Althyk and Nymeia.

The raids just happened to double down on Greek mythology related references for ancients: Hephaestus, Erichthonius, Athena, Themis, Hesperus, Hegemone and Agdistis are all names from Greek mythology. Furthermore both Phoinix and Hippokampos are creatures from Greek mythology as well. The only thing not based on Greek mythology in the raids seems to be Proto-Carbuncle. I'm not really sold on the Zeus idea myself since those are some big shoes to fill, but nevertheless it's interesting to see both the alliance raid and the 8-man raids pretty heavily reference Greek mythology.

They are market sellable. The Emet one does the bridge of his nose pinch and head shake. Saw a video for them. Sadly they didn't see if they had any interaction.
