    Feedback: Duty Portraits

Hello, and good morning all! I hope everybody is enjoying 6.3 so far, I just had some slight feedback for the portrait system I'd like to offer!

While completing my roulettes this morning I had hardly even noticed the new feature to show portraits at the start of a duty, for one thing they're very small by default and we've no way currently to resize them. Secondly, they are slightly offset to the left of the top of the screen and it seems like a very odd placement for them. My suggestion to fix this is fairly simple, either make it like the PvP portraits in Crystalline Conflict where an animation plays showing off all the portraits at the start or make the Duty Portrait window itself a UI element we can resize and move in the HUD editor!

Thank you for coming to my TED talk!

Actually, you can resize them. There's a brief period after the start of the duty where you can bring the images back up, and look at them as long as you like. If you Right-Click (or controller equivalent) the top of the bar, you can resize it like any other UI Element. Personally, I find 120% to be the sweet spot. 200% brings them to full size like you'd see in PVP, but it will take up your whole screen.

The element to bring up the window again should be around where your timed notifications like Area Achievements, Friend Requests, etc. pop up. I believe it's a green UI element. I recommend doing it from a duty with Trusts so you have all the time you like to adjust it.

They don't seem to work in the slightest. I set my duty portrait for each job, and yes turned the feature on. Then popped into a duty and everyone is set to the default portrait. GG SE. why am I not surprised.

There seems to be a bug that prevents some portraits from working from the get-go. Old ones maybe? Something along those lines, it doesn't fully makes sense to me, but this is what I observed:
    - Created today a few portraits for classes that didn't have one. Those worked fine.
    - Joined some duties with a class that's had a portrait for a very long time, didn't work because presumably, equipped gear was different. Made sure the equipped gear was the same, edited and re-saved the portrait. Portrait still didn't work.
    - Duplicated the old gearset, imported the portrait from the old onto the duplicata. Now both the old and duplicated portrait worked fine in duties.

Since we're into that, why must the portrait be reset when the gear doesn't match? Couldn't the game just automatically update the gear but re-use the same pose and background? That would make a lot more sense, save a lot of manually editing portraits for nothing, and that would always give something a bit more interesting to see.

And why must the equipped gear matter? Only the gear's appearance/glamour should be relevant.
As I'm still going through the MSQ, I'm updating my gears very often, so my portraits are constantly in a "outdated gear" state. On the other hand my glamours change very rarely; if the portrait picked that up instead, portraits wouldn't even become outdated in the first place.

This is exactly the reason why I registered on the forums today.
I enjoy the portrait system immensely, because it allows me to express how I view my character and share it with others.

But why do I have to update my portrait for a job every single time I change something as small as a ring?
There is NO WAY that the developers thought an automatic updating system for the portraits wouldn't be absolutely necessary and obvious to implement.
It's a formality that just doesn't have to be.

I'd also love to be able to see the portraits while we wait for folks to load in to raids/dungeons and/or watching cutscenes! Not quite the same seeing them during commendations as I can't enjoy the ones from folks who I can't comm (pre-formed party mates, for instance).
