Literally the same thing could be said for sprouts who queue up for EX content via the DF. It's a team game and everyone should do their best to prepare for content they're queuing in for.

Problem is in EX content, 1-2 mentors can't drag the other 6-7 people across the finish line if the newbies are:
    • Undergeared (min ilvl or using other role accessories to cheese the ilvl). And yes, I have seen that second case. DRK in caster (int) accessories, DPS in Tank accessories. PEOPLE QUEUEING UP FOR EX'S IN BASE JOBS.
    • Have no idea what they're doing
    • Can't learn quickly

Some you can, most you can't. That's why I don't think EX content has any business being there. Certain trials can't be explained easily (try explaining SoS EX) because they have MULTIPLE phases and Mechanics. It is simply not approachable for the kind of player who is going through the DF.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
