You say that.
I've never had a Rahmah EX group get past learning how to count to three. The very first mechanic.
Don't matter how few there are, if nobody's willing to do them.

I've taken a couple of groups to victory. I did not hesitate to vote abandon one attempt however when both sprout tanks make us stuck at orb prog for half an hour. I've even led one Thordan ex group to victory because the new people were receptive to learning).
I'll stick around to see people get a synced EX clear but I am not a machine. If people aren't willing to learn at all then it doesn't matter how much one tried to teach. Had Sophia ex run in the last week abandon after 3 runs because people chain pulled and didn't bother learning.

Hard is subjective. Just because YOU don't think its hard doesn't mean it isn't hard for someone else. Everyone, including mentors are a vast array of skill level. I'm a mentor, but I'm also a very casual player and I have not done EX or savage content since heavensward. I'm a working mom with 2 kids, I don't have the time to do statics and learn EX content. And again there is so MUCH content. EX trials should NOT be in mentor roulette. Mentor roulette should actually be focused on MSQ main content and NORMAL standard content. NO content that is usually only done unsync'd after a new level cap is reached by the majority of the player base. The part of mentor roulette where it has so many duties is the point. Mentors already abuse the system to try to get as many easy duties as possible on their way to the mount, giving them a guaranteed way to get it while never having to actually pop any underplayed duties would defeat the whole purpose of the queue.
Letting free trial players make PFs is a no go. It won't happen. It was removed because of the RMT ad spam from f2p characters that would get made, get banned for advertising clear sales, then come back in a new trial account. There's a reason the restriction is there.
Also EX content is not actually that hard. Old fights up to stormood have single digit numbers of mechanics to learn with the exception of nidhogg and I've cleared that in DF just fine before. Mentors just love to complain about getting alliance raids, ex fights, and msq because it hurts their speed farming for the mount and titles. Then they wonder why mentors get a bad name when most of the experiences people have with them are either abandoning at the start of duties or rushing everyone through for more roulette completions.

There should be a written test when mentors apply for the certification where they are tested on job and dungeons/trials/raid mechanics.
Example: 1) What is the general opener for a 'insert job here' and what are the more niche openers and describe what kind of situations would you prefer the niche compared to general opener. 2) Describe the mechanics which you encounter in 'insert dungeon/trial/raid' here and explain how you would resolve such mechanics.
In addition to the written test, all would be mentors have to clear all current savage raids and extreme trials to prove that they are decent at the game (I'll exclude ultimates as that might narrow down the potential applicants too much)
As for trade mentors, it's a joke and should be completely removed.

Considering I've been a mentor for YEARS without touch EX or mentor roulette this is dumb. I've been playing this game since PS3 CLOSED beta. I have a VAST amount of knowledge in this game to help players FINISH THE STORY. Which at the end of the day is the main objective of this game. The EX is BONUS OPTIONAL CONTENT. Mentors should exist to mentor players through STANDARD content. There should be a written test when mentors apply for the certification where they are tested on job and dungeons/trials/raid mechanics.

That is so stupid. You saing, that mentors should be only the minmaxers, that 95% of time dont care about being a mentor? There should be a written test when mentors apply for the certification where they are tested on job and dungeons/trials/raid mechanics.

IMO the only adjustment needed is that extremes shouldn't be in it. It should be for filling in for standard content that people need to progress the story or level or farm tomes or whatnot, not for optional high-end challenge content that isn't needed for any of those things.

EXs need to be on a roulette for free trial players who can't join PF.
