    Housing / Transfer help

    So, I was looking to transfer from Faerie to Sargatanas(sp) to play with some friends, and I read on the transfer fine print that my houses, small and medium, would be auto demo'd and I'd be recompensated for my losses...However when I tried to do so, it gave me an error about owning land and would not allow the transfer to continue *amidst a couple other small things that are no big deal i.e. stuff being sold by my retainers and free company*. One FC house Medium, and small house personal..so, I looked online and found apparently relinguishing gives 80% of gil back, so I went to work..took me some hours and I managed to get it taken care of...however...I came to find out, after I tried to talk to the resident caretaker that I couldn't get anything from them. I looked online, turns out relinguishing gives nothing.

    So, I made a ticket to the support chat, and received this:

    I offered to show evidence of my ownership for some hope in getting reimbursed that way, however I only got the "Sorry bro" and no effort from support whatsoever in trying to help me or legitimately trying to reach out to me to speak to me through a chat, or simply through email itself. I could have and will show my evidence below... when their own website tells me I could transfer with reimbursed money from going from a congested server to a non congested...which is offered for free...however, I also came to find out this morning when I wanted to just transfer and deal with the situation later...that I still have to pay 18 dollars after all of this!

    Needlessly to say, I am beyond frustrated...Support made NO EFFORT in trying to help me whatsoever..I remember there being a livechat not a month ago, but I can't seem to find it now. If I had known this outcome, I would not have removed my houses and waited for faerie to lose its congested status. I will show proof below as well.

    All I want is my reimbursement for the gil lost through a situation I felt I was forced to do. Support claims they regret not being able to talk to me directly:

    And yet there is no option to speak to them directly through a direct chat..which is strange because I do remember there being one within the past month or so. You offer something like this, and then when someone has problems with it, they get the "i'm sorry for your loss" treatment and then a bunch of corpo "We appreciate your feedback!" routine after being screwed over? I thought you guys were better than this. You even offer it for free, and yet a congested server still has to pay?

    *side note* this isn't even going into how I and a friend tried to marry cross world, only to see there not being a warning against cross server marriages, and when she tried to get a refund, she was told no. *sorry bro*.

    Even if it's "well known", not having it mentioned when people try to purchase it, at least in my mind, is a huge nono...and refusing to refund that individual when they were not aware of such things, when there is no warning against it is even more wrong.

    I am sorry for "ranting", but this is infuriating. Now I have lost both of my homes, all that money spent *gone*, and now my retainers and myself are absolutely cluttered with furniture, and no way to reobtain my lost homes, because of the absolute abysmal handling of the housing system, and I have to pay for something that should be free of charge per your own text. Please help me. I don't know why that must be so difficult.

    The reimbursement and free server transfers are only if you move to a Preferred or New World, its RIGHT THERE in your screen shot. Sarg is a Standard world. Hence you do not get reimbursed for your houses for transferring and you have to pay $18 to transfer.

    As well as congested worlds to "Preferred worlds". I am in a congested world. It is as you say, "RIGHT THERE" in the screenshot. My congested world is Faerie, which proof is shown, as well as my preferred world being that of sargatanas. Since there is no "category" of preferred world, preferred then can be used as the dictionary form I.E.

    like (one thing or person) better than another or others; tend to choose:
    "I prefer Venice to Rome" · "I would prefer to discuss the matter in private" · "Val would presumably prefer that you didn't get arrested" · "his preferred candidate"

    I'm assuming you read what you wanted, and responded without reading everything,

    Sorry to tell you this but you ain't getting your Gil back. You basically messed up badly and lost your houses and Gil by transferring to a server with a Standard World status. As justausername told you, the reimbursement and free server transfers are only if you move to a server set as a Preferred World or New World. And there very much are categories of Preferred World and New World. Take a look at the Server Status page on Lodestone and look at the Japan servers to see that they have world set as Preferred Worlds. Also look at US Server's Dynamis DC to see the New World status. You messed up by not doing research and it cost you badly.

    That's fine, they do not make that clear in the text. I did do my research, but not super in depth because I did not feel as though I needed to..especially when I read that 80% gil would be returned when relinguishing a plot and even "if" I didn't, it is good customer service to help someone who made a mistake rather than "dismissing" them. A company to have such poor customer service, and no attempt at helping someone with an unfortunate circumstance that "the individual messed up because they didn't do in depth research on the context of 'preferred worlds'", where anyone who reads that will assume after looking at the worlds page there is no 'preferred' worlds type, that preferred is by the dictionary definition. I have no idea how to look at Japan's servers, and even if I did, I would not think to look at theirs because I am in the United States. I also know nothing of US Server Dynamis because I have never heard of such a thing.

    Honestly, I expect something like this in today's world because the entirety of the Human race is collapsing in on itself where people would defend a company and politicians/people who hold power, rather than those who feel cheated by them and will turn on their fellow man on a dime because their governments gave them reigns to do so. I'll let Better Business Bureau handle it, I expect nothing to come of this, and I expect random people to blindly defend bad practice because how dare someone challenge a large corporation that gives them pretty things, but it was worth a try. It's just too bad we live in an absolutely disgusting civilization.

You get some nice "drama" and get to enjoy your popcorn while poking at the idiot who didn't "do his research". Enjoy it .

    Final edit: Reported situation to BBB, leaving post as its become nothing more than belittling individual / individual's situation who "made a mistake". I love this community.

    The fact is, no one I see in this thread is defending the company. No one said that Square Enix has the best customer service. Someone pointed out your mistake, then you go blame the community and humankind for your screw up. If anyone didn't bother to read, it was you, or even bother to follow the links provided for the Home World Transfer Service and World population balancing incentives. If you had you would have found out where to go see the "status" of each server and understood what that meant. Rather you assume you knew what it meant. So please get off your high horse and stand up to your own mistake and move on from there. Stop blaming everyone else for your mistake.

    You have some serious issues that seem to go way beyond the issue of transferring a server and losing a few houses in a video game. And that's not me poking at you. That's genuine concern. Please seek some help.

    I don't know how they (SE) could be any clearer, really.

    Not only does it warn you first on the Transfer page about why you can't Transfer, but it then warns you in the game that Relinquishing a Plot of land means you "give it up", as in, no refund at all, you give it away.

    It even asks you to confirm.

    It clearly states the condition to receive a refund, you must be on a Congested World, and you must select a New or Preferred World, the give away is, its Free.
    If it asks you to pay, you messed up reading.

    They will not help you at all, as you failed to heed the warnings and safety measures.
