I want to start off by saying this idea comes from the fact Blue mage is my favorite job in the series and I started playing FF14 when I heard it was coming to the game. but I was not aware of it's limited status. None of the main jobs getting me excited like the Blue Mage. So I wanted to imagine a Job that would make me just as excited as BLU.
Job Name: Elementalist (ELE)
Weapon: Aether Fist
Role: Caster
Job Gauge: Aether Orb
Limit Break 3: KiloFlare
The ELE is proficient in the six types of magic. Fire, water, ground, ice, air, and electric. When casting a spell the Aether Orb will fill 1/6 of power based on the spell cast.
For example:
Lvl 1 spell: Bolt. Deal electric damage to an enemy with X potency. The Aether Orb will fill 1 stack of the electric element.
Then the player will have spells from all elements to fill the Aether Orb.
Fire Ball: Deal fire damage to an enemy. Fill the Aether Orb with one fire stack
Ice Shard: Deal ice damage to an enemy. Fill the Aether Orb with one ice stack
Stalagmite: Deal earth damage to an enemy. Fill the Aether Orb with one earth stack
Windburn: Deal wind damage to an enemy. Fill the Aether Orb with one wind stack
Wave: Deal water damage to an enemy. Fill the Aether Orb with one water stack
The job gets more complicated when adding in AOE affects.
Example:
Lvl 17 spell: Jetstream. Boost the recast speed by X% of you and your allies within X amount of yalms. fill the Aether Orb with 2 stacks of wind element.
Lvl 22 Spell: High pressure. deal water damage to all enemies in a line front of you. Fill Aether Orb with 2 stacks of water element.
The Aether Fist will glow based on the last spell cast:
Example: Your fist will be burning if you cast a fire spell last while a cold fog would be radiating from it if you cast an ice spell.
Filling the Aether Orb will be the main gameplay loop. Upon filling the orb you will mix the stacks and cast a spell based what was mixed.
Example:
Spell: Open Burst and Mix. Cast a spell using the leftover elements mixed from previous spells.
Example:
Six Fire Stacks: Super Nova. Erupt Fire around an enemy with X amount of potency.
The spell will then have different affects based on what is mixing.
Examples:
Three fire stacks, three earth stacks: Volcano. CFause an eruption at your target's feet dealing fire and earth damage with X potency at your main target and 50% less to other targets within X yalms. Targets take burning damage for 3 seconds if they remain in the area.
Neo-Flare: One water stack, one fire stack, one ice stack, one air stack, one earth stack, one electric stack. Deal unaspected damage with X potency to your main target and 50% less to other targets within X yalms.
No need to make a spell for every possible combination. if there are two fire stacks and two earth stacks, with one water stack and one wind stack. Treat it as a weaker version of Volcano.
