Need an alternative way to get the gears from alliance raids

Seriously, the average time for outdated alliance raids is so long.
Most of the case, it takes longer than 45 minutes, or even an hour or more.
Even if you were lucky enough to get in within 45 minutes of que,
you have to pray hard for the desired gear to drop,
and then you have to be very lucky to win the gear,
if not, wait for 45+ minutes to get back in again.

This is really frustrating and there needs to be an alternative way to get a glam.

For example, how about a toke for each clearance, which you can exchange for any gears from a certain npc, like the totems for mounts or the tokens for full party raids?

Or, how about the coins exist already, which is not so useful anymore.
If the gears can be listed for reward, like 3 or 4 coins per a gear, that would be much better than relying on the pure luck.

This might be helpful for making outdated alliance raids more active, so that new players can clear them more easily.

dont we already get some pennies from clears?

make it so that you can choose to upgrade your tome stuff or buy your 24 stuff savage style, body/pants 8 pennies; hat/hands/feet 4 pennies

"but 8 weeks is too long!"

Alliance raid coins for all but the current expansion have been removed so as not to clutter inventory, since tomestone gear from previous expansions can be upgraded directly with poetics, rendering the coins and upgrade tokens moot.

I wouldn't expect the current expansions to let you buy it directly anyway. Gotta keep the hamster wheel turning.

For older expansions though, it would make sense to do that rather than stop handing out the coins once the raids are non-current, as is currently the case.

If they're concerned about inventory bloat, perhaps they could change the non-current eight-man normal raids so each tier drops a single currency instead of six?

The amount of tokens/coins you would have to get would have to be pretty big, because all the while you are gaining currency to get the exact gear you want, there's also a chance the gear you want could drop at any run. 3-4 coins per item is a pitiful amount. You'd get your item so quickly. You are working with the assumption that if people have better means of getting the drops they need, they'd run the alliance raid more. Well maybe for a few weeks or a month, possibly two, but afterwards we are right back where we started and perhaps even worse off since people who would generally be grinding the raids for a long time are gone as well.

I'd say if we were to work with this kind of token/coin exchange thing, they would have to be something you roll for from the alliance raid chests which are guaranteed to drop and you can only win one per raid, if you're lucky. That way you always have a chance of slowly building up to the item you want, if you are unlucky with the drops.

Imagine how much worse queue times would be for those trying to get them done for the first time if the glamour incentive didn't exist for those who had already completed them.

Sometimes I wonder if Alliance raids should be revised at the end of their release expansion to be 12-man (3 Light Parties) instead of 24-man. It could make it easier for players to get groups formed for the older Alliance raid they want to do and likely reduce how often CT comes up for those doing Alliance roulette.

I agree on that, though it doesn't feel like incentive at all. Maybe there could be some other way to make alliance raids more active than this frustrating rate of getting gears, as it would be not much different that players wouldn't come again once they got what they want.

Rather than (re)adding separate old alliance raid currency and the NPC vendors necessary to exchange them, I would prefer they just make it so that old expansions' alliance raids guarantee that all the drops are wearable by someone in the party so long as the alliance is syncked and run with 24/24 (including DF slots pending refill). This would significantly increase the probability that you get what you're looking for without guaranteeing that you get it within a certain number of runs.

So whereas now a boss might drop two pieces of gear for any role, a party of 1 tank / 2 healers / 2 casters / 3 rangers would have two pieces of gear which each have probabilities of 1/8 tank gear, 1/4 healer gear, 1/4 casting gear, 3/8 ranger gear. Alternatively duplicate party members of a role might be ignored so that the same party has probabilities of 1/4 tank gear, 1/4 healer gear, 1/4 casting gear, 1/4 ranger gear. Both options present better expected outcomes than the current system but are still random. I think I'd prefer the weighted one though.

One would be able to force the system by creating an unrestricted alliance where one party is, e.g., 8 rangers so that that party gets nothing but ranger drops; however, the burden of collecting 8 rangers plus 16 other players and running the raid syncked would balance that enough that it wouldn't be the norm.
