Will mounts be able to jump too?

They haven't really talked about this but if you need to jump over a ledge, or something and your mounted will your mount have the ability to jump and a jump animation? Think SE will add this to chocobos and whatever other mounts they make. It would be somewhat annoying if they couldn't jump and you had to get off your mount to get over a ledge then remount.

I know in almost every other MMO that has jump your mounts have a jump animation too.

Of course it’s possible to make it fly technically.

In a translated interview they asked that question, it may or may not. Yoshi mentioned something along the lines of being complex to animate.

They say it's too hard to animate, and they say they are putting fences around everywhere so you can't fall and kill yourself (like a kiddy bowling alley). Jumping sounds like a trainwreck in this game so far. But at least we can hop up ledges.

It's a shame when you see games in beta that have 3 different jumping mounts without particularly cartoony animations. I'm sure S.E. could achieve the same thing if they just bothered to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8S0AOiOmig

It does sound like they are designing the zones around jumping, seems like a ton of extra work. Hope they made a Starbucks run.
