    More Healing (specific) Classes

So we have two tanks, several types of DPS, a psuedo-buffer, but still only 1 dedicated healer. Unfortunately, most party shouts you hear are looking for WHM since most group content requires some healing. However, once you maxed on your CNJ/WHM there are really no other healing-specific (i.e., capable of full-time healing a party) classes to level. So, in addition to "formally" requesting another healing-specific class, I would like to hear others' opinions on another healing class and how it would work.

Yes I know what they have said already, so I am hoping you just play along and discuss what you would like to see from another healing-specific class.

I think I would like to see encounters scaled in such a way that damage mitigation, avoiding attacks, an aura-style regeneration, and/or triggering heal procs from damaging an enemy could sustain a party.

Where the inability to avoid an attack or a heavy hitter targeting someone other than the tank would put a hole in this unity, requiring more direct healing to recover.

i.e. Paladin's regen assisting the melee front, haven't used Lancer since 1.19 - don't recall if the Speed Surge effect was present (party members receive HP for attacking the enemy).

I'd rather see someone who is a good back up healer with a ton of different buffs. Healer's can only do so much in a fight, and when you have a back up healer, they can spend the time buffing and attacking.

Classes I wouldn't be able to say, but jobs, on the other hand...

Green Mage: HoT-focus with some buffs. Introduce the spell Mend, which would heal for the same amount of HP Cure would, but over 8-10 seconds (with a dispel protection mechanic for PvP). An AoE version of Mend, too. It should also have a full party, 1-second cast Refresh spell.

Geomancer: Introduce Healing Earth, which would work like Sanguine Rite but to recover HP and limited to a certain HP percentage. Introduce Volatile Water, which would be a weak HoT that would heal for X amount of HP if the player with Volatile Water gets hit by any damage.

Mystic/Oracle: This would be more secondary healer. Aside from being debuff-focused, it would have a spell that would do damage and heal the party for a miniscule amount proportionate to the damage dealt. Could also have spells that reduce mob attributes and buff the party in one shot.

Thaumaturge: I'd love to see this class make a return to what it was pre-revamp but without the stupid OP DoTs and kiting spells. Sacrifice and it's line of spells made sense for the class and I feel terrible to see something like that go entirely to waste. That and I'm of the opinion that BLM was shoehorned on to THM so that people wouldn't complain about THM getting nothing when jobs were introduced.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

Dancer from FF11 was an awesome job. It could not main heal but it could heal great and buff and DPS.

Yer i think dancer was a pretty healthy combination of sustainable party healing/buffer/dps.

TP healing instead of MP would be an awesome class imo.

Just wait for SMN to be introduced. There's your second healing job.

Well at this point I dont think we need more than one healer class really. Down the road yes but not right now.

On that note, a fantastic main heal in ffxi was....puppetmaster.

    Yes I said puppetmaster lol.

After you hit the lvl 40-ish pts using your whm puppet you could endlessly heal with unlimited mp using the right maneuvers. I did it many times and ppl were always amazed pup could do it lol. No downtime and the automaton could easily keep everyone in the pt at full health. Tons of fun that pup if you played it right.

I second this. DNC was indeed a real fun and underplayed / appreciated class. Light DPS but mid/high party buffs and mid/high healing. Very ok with this idea.

Dancer could main heal easily actually. The problem is that SE never pushed them that way for endgame content so they lacked the tools to be on par with WHM. DNC was fine for parties though.
