Hi guys, I used to play ast prior the card change but now the class is dull to me.

I'll probably never heal outside of the duty roulette so no uber skilled tank for me.

Ive tried WM but spaming stone/aero is boring when you can top someone with an ogcd heal.

It sounds like none of the healers are for you, to be honest. You will find all of them boring because all of them are 2-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 repeat. Sage just has a 3 thrown in once every 45s.

If you like lots of insta cast try Sage. As far as i know the only other class non DPS with the business of astro is gunbreaker.

No, it really doesn't feel any different compared to your other 3 healers. It lacks GCD DPS skills and oGCD DPS skills. It lacks Kardion interaction with its oGCD skills to encourage using DPS to heal. It literally still feels like Scholar 2.0.
Sorry to disappoint you, but SE let healers down ever since tanks can start healing without us even further without giving healers anything back to compensate. We'll have to check patch 6.3 job changes to be sure, but currently, it's not looking optimistic for healers (seeing how our feedback about downtime has been ignored for years). There will probably see a spike in healer activity because of new content, but afterwards... it'll regress back to its usual state.

AST is the only healer with an ounce of depth to it, so any other is just going to feel like a downgrade in terms of gameplay, even if ASTs engagement has been contorted whatever the Fu this thing is.

If you’re looking for a job for fast queues in the duty roulette, then you’re really not going to be any happier with any healer. You could always give tanking a try. WAR is easy to play and survive with since it can heal harder than the actual healers, but its gameplay is very one note—better than the healers, but not by much. DRK is tougher to tank as but has a bit more going on. GNB is quite busy and can make some aspects of tanking just a little challenging (mainly boss positioning at times). I’d say PLD’s gameplay offers some unique depth without feeling too busy or overwhelming, but it’s getting changed in a few days so who knows what it’ll feel like.

If you’re okay with waiting 10 minutes or so for duties to pop, RDM and DNC are generally the best jobs for people who like healing and support jobs. They don’t heal really (DNC heals a little but the potencies are so low that it basically doesn’t do anything), but they feel really intuitive and do offer at least the fantasy of being a supportive team player.

Honestly Sage feels skin to old Dark Knight in terms of ability usage. Anyone here remember using Dark Arts before every attack? Eukrasia feels like the new Dark Arts.

Not really, because we have three total skills that interact with Dark-rasia. Even HW DRK, where DA was a much more thought out choice of what to use on, had way more skills that could be DA'd, Dark Passenger, Souleater, Carve and Spit, Abyssal Drain, Dark Mind, Dark Dance, probably another one or two I've forgotten (it's been years). I've had ideas to make SGE more like old DRK in terms of Augmentation skill usage (Krasis, Soteria, Zoe, a new PanKardia for AOE would all be active parts of your healing rotation) and while it'd be a great fun time (probably), it'd also hopefully be pretty APM intensive and possibly not so new player friendly. Then again, it starts at 70 so what 'new player' would there be? Boosty bois?

Oh it certainly feels like Dark Arts...when all you're doing is spamming Eukrasian Diagnosis, but in that case the fault would lie with you for ignoring every other vastly superior skill that Sage has in it's kit.

Otherwise you use it maybe once between pulls and once to refresh your DoT every 30 seconds, not exactly DA levels of spam.

The funny thing is WHM is the healer with the least oGCD heals. At least you can use lilies to imagine you're pressing something other than Glare, all the other healers just weave something in and go back to mashing 1.

If you strongly dislike pressing single button ad nauseum, none of the healer will fit you. All healers presses their 1 nuke button about as much as melees do their auto attacks.
