Yeah, this was basically me when I saw the picture:



"Why?" is a very, very good question. On the plus side, that fancy big ship mount is an MGP reward. I finally have a goal again! It's certainly not that elephant though. That's a big yikes from me.

The elephant looks dreadful on multiple levels. The actual elephant model has really weird proportions and is unappealing, and then they've thrown some gaudy lights on it and called it a day. There is a bunny robot mount. Yoshida showed it off during the LLP. When going full speed it looks like it comes close to cutting off your nose as the ears turn into propellers and you lean forward. At least that's how it is for lalafells.

Party members' instant portraits will now display at the start of the following duties:

Dungeons
Guildhests
Trials
Raid Dungeons
Alliance Raid Dungeons
Deep Dungeons
Variant & Criterion Dungeons

Kind of gross. I like the portrait system, but doesn't this make it a little bit less opt in? Aside from the newer players who won't immediately have one, it's probably going to feel bad if you're the one person on your team without one.

It is now possible to display party members' instant portraits in the Player Commendation window.

Soooooooo. We're really trashing commends at this point aren't we? I realize people don't really commend according to the in-game guidelines and they just sometimes do it based on character names, designed or whatever else that isn't tied to the performance of players or how they were treated but... we're really enabling this behavior?

NPC vendors that deal in items obtained from duties will now appear according to player progression.

I don't know how this is going to work but this could be really good for under level 50. Hopefully it could help with preventing people from jumping into level 30-40 dungeons with level 10-20 gear on.

Dharmic rain can also be received from Rashti in exchange for Allagan tomestones of astronomy.

I have no idea how this works normally, but is it just me or is it weird that an item used for upgrading crafting supplies is earned in exchange for a combat currency and not a crafting currency?

Everything else is okay I guess. I don't think IS is getting a new currency so I need to make sure I keep that running so I can buy whatever new additions they add immediately on day one.

I've yet to see anyone use the Elephant mount. Honestly weird decision for a reskin. Maybe from Faux? They like to put reskins in there.
