I can understand why some folks would not want a Eureka level sync. I mean, unless they rewrite how the Forbidden Land challenge logs work, you could absolutely abuse a straight level sync to cheese those. So I'm going to pose a secondary question here: if you don't like the idea of a level sync, what alternative would you propose to let higher-level folks come actually do things with lower-level friends?

In particular, consider the example I gave of folks in my FC who want to do Eureka, but don't want to do it solo. Eureka veterans are happy to go in with them, but until they get near a zone's cap, all we can do with them is either wander off to spawn NMs (and then party up and level sync for the NM) or XP-cheese them through a zone.

My FC usually settles on the former, because it's marginally less mindless than cheeseball power-leveling... but it's still a bummer, because you have to leave the low-level person to wander off and do stuff on their own, while the high-level folks group up and head off to try to get level-appropriate NMs to spawn for them.

The fact that Eureka penalizes folks for grouping up to play with others (if there's any sort of level differential) feels backwards, in an MMO... especially when the content is no longer current and thus no longer as active.

So, if you aren't in favor of a general party level sync to let the higher-level Eureka veterans level down to stay partied with their new-to-Eureka friends, what alternative fix for that scenario would you propose?

I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.

    What Eureka is Really About

First off, I appreciate the time you all are taking to read this. When I write why I cannot support the petition, I speak on the journey Eureka and the overall impact this specific content had on me as a person. I implore you to listen to my story as it is long but will be broken down into 4 sections. This will hopefully give you clarity on why I make my stance on keeping Eureka the way it is.

    Anemos:
I embarked on my journey with the intention of grinding well over 50 hours to equip my secondary class (PLD) with his elemental gears for glamour purposes. I crafted over 100 EXP pots and invested about 300k in high end foods in preparation. I had no help from levels, 1-15. I did all content alone. I did not die but there were very few people around and it was only until I activated a fate by accident did I start to understand the rules set in place. I was encouraged to be more vocal in chat for fates and spent well over 10 hours in Anemos. This time investment allowed me to fully understand the mechanics in Eureka as well as limit test my PLD. This time investment was completely worth it, and I still had drive to get my elemental armor.

    Pagos:
For the first few levels in Pagos, I again was alone. I had no help, and I was punished severely for my mistakes. I died a few times and due to no rezzing from anyone. I truly felt alone, and it was entirely up to me to get the elemental armor. This section, of my journey taught me many things such as patience and to take it upon myself to group up with people my level. In essence, my leadership skills dramatically increased during this time, and I felt responsible for keeping my party alive at all costs because I fully understood what happens if I failed. Again, I was doing this for my Paladin. I created parties and mass pulled like old MMOs. I made it my mission to get everyone past this section in my moments of despair of giving up on my goals to get the armor. I spent roughly 15 hours getting to 35 by leading my parties and keeping them alive.

    Pyros:
35 hours in and my drive was brighter than ever because of the trials I endured in the past 2 sections. I was able to get into fate parties easier and my goals slowly started to shift from getting the armor to the actual journey and friends made along the way. Pyros, is the place where flames go out due to burn out and I did suffer this part way but the comradery of spamming the red yeti dance and the mutual teamwork of working together made the 10 to 13 hours go by much faster. I continued to hone my skills of my PLD and had newfound vigor to transcend the limits of what I can accomplish with my class. This was also the time where I started noticing the bunny botting and RMT chicanery from leveled alts which could only be possible from taking advantage of the challenge log to power level accounts.

    Hydratos:
45 hours in I was in the homestretch and completely shifted my mindset from the gears to pushing my class to the limits and making more friends in the process. The bunny bots still are here which is a shame. I received my elemental armor around the 51st hour.

    In Summary:
Eureka is more than a relic/armor hunt. It is a journey to self-improvement and by continuing to dumb down the exp to make things easier to new people. You are depriving them of reaching their full potential. There is a reason why so few people have elemental armor. The ones who failed are the ones who gave up climbing the mountain of Eureka and failed to transcend to their highest potential. They failed to adapt and be resilient/patient enough to make the climb. The journey to achieve it as well as the lessons I learned far outclass the look on the armor. That's when I fully understood what Eureka is really about. It is a way to push yourself to your absolute limits as both your class and you as a person. To never give into despair and be the voice for the voiceless. To stand firm on what you want and don't let anyone hold you back. To never surrender when things go awry. The armor itself is reflective of how much you have grown and transcended. This would never be possible without the time investment.

    On a side note:
Dumbing down the EXP will only increase bunny bots and ruin the market.
