We had this idea come up in fishcord and I wonder if it would be possible for them to add fishing holes on the Explorer Mode of dungeons. The first area we thought of was Aurum Vale.![]()
Shisui would be another spot.

Interesting idea. But I think one will need to create a sub-minigame for this idea... I mean, you need to have an objective to do this.... to serve some purpose and some cool rewards.

I submit this with the assumption that it would not be possible in explorer mode : If code isn't TOO spaghetti, explorer mode should be a kinda "read only" instance so it doesn't create a real instance on the server. I could be wrong.
But the idea could be another take on Ocean Fishing : rotation of different dungeons to go gathering in.
Could even include the other gathering classes, making it some kinda mini Diadem.
And It would allow for maps that aren't available in explorer mode, like alliance raids (Mach and Ivalice raid both have some nice fishing spots).
I imagine this is the case, but I think it's worth a shot to ask the question. Fishing holes can go pretty much anywhere. There are still items you can interact with like the field notes scattered about some dungeons. If a fishing hole's footprint is light enough, maybe they could work them in somehow.
In explorer mode, are we even really in the dungeon? No monsters, no loot, no boss.
But what if that was the eventual payoff of squadrons and trusts, somebody ELSE can patrol the dungeon so you can go in as a "of the land" and go get stuff.
