If I know I am going to be more then two min's I often just leave the group and eat my 30 min timer.

Yeah, I do the same. No sense in wasting their time or my own. I also don't join farm groups if I know I can't put at least a half hour to an hour in. It grinds my gears when someone joins a farm for like 3 clears and then leaves or joins for a WT clear when the PF ad specifically states it was forming a farm group. lol To me, that is disrespectful.
