Morning. I was just wondering how hard it would be for the devs to make a sweep and clean out all the lalafell rat like bots sitting under all the floors and in the roofs spamming gold selling.

Imagine the hundreds of these bots, hidden away and squeeking out their unwanted spam right under your feet, or in the walls or roofs hidden above you.

Watching dozens spawn at a time with teleport hacks in game does not say much for the games security, especially considering all of the other cheats that would be able to be used if that one is.

I always joke that they could just hire me to hop servers/DCs for 8 hours a day just nuking all the bots. I could do it while I work my main job. I'll do it for minimum wage.

Probably not very hard, but honestly they don't care about bots or RMT. The only ones who get banned are those who spam messages bothering actual players.

The problem is they're rats. They multiply almost as fast as rabbits. Clean out one nest and a new nest has already formed.

If you want to get rid of rats permanently, you need to remove their food source. Unfortunately, enough players like providing the rats with food that they'll never go away - unless we can permanently get rid of those players that are feeding them.

Out of curiosity, why haven't they tried hardware banning the RMT bots? Is it difficult to do? Or is there an easy way around it like VPNs can get around things? Or is it expensive? Honestly curious.

hardware bans are very easy to navigate around.

The only way to stop these bots is to region lock the area in which they connect from, which in turn will just end up banning china from the game.
