Where to find friends and parties for content?

Hey everyone,

I'm fairly new to the game, just beat Realm Reborn and thought that gave me a good intro and confirmed that I am interested in diving into more endgame and community. However I just don't know where to start, is there a particular spot where you find people looking for a party or a way to make friends?

I'm mostly looking for people to play raids and do msq and quests with, any leads would be greatly appreciated!

You could try the Community Finder, or even just looking around in-game with the Party Finder.

Most people play through the MSQ solo since everyone goes at their own pace. You might meet some people willing to help new players with dungeons and trials. I would probably worry more about endgame upon reaching endgame as you have a long road ahead of you if you've just finished ARR.

I find the best way of meeting people is just communicating with those I randomly party up with in-game. Sometimes you end up friending someone and begin hanging out with them and their friends and it builds from there.

A lot of it depends what you want to do.

You can do MSQ content (all of which is easy) by joining the queue for it. It finds people in the queue for Duty Roulettes and brings them into your MSQ content to help you beat it.

If you want social interaction and support while going through the MSQ and a place to ask questions, you can either ask a person with a crown icon to invite you to the Novice Network, or join an FC (Free Company, known as guilds in similar games). You can click anyone's name in front of you and look at their Free Company details and apply to it, or look at the Community Finder.

You can also get help with content by opening Party Finder and recruiting for the content you want help with. Just specify the rules and restrictions you want for your party and people will manually join if they are interested.

If you want to do challenging, high-end raid content (all of which is optional and unlocked via blue quests), most people don't do old raids. They just do the ones at level 90 and ultimates, which you can recruit for at https://www.reddit.com/r/FFXIVRECRUITMENT/ (they have a massive discord server too).

If you want to do old high-end raids below level 90, such as Extreme/Minstrel's Ballad, Coils or Savage, then you can either recruit in Party Finder for a level 90 to help you kill them in a few hits, or do them synced similar to how they used to be with the Minimum IL and Silence Echo settings, but mention you are using these settings in the Party Finder recruitment. There are also discord community for doing them synced with these settings for the challenge where you can let people know you are recruiting in Party Finder.

Thanks for the clarity that I can still pretty much screw around, I play on console and wish there was a voice option but I'm getting used to using the chat. Really appreciate the response!
