This morning I received an email from Square Enix saying that there was a payment error and that my sub had been cancelled. Made no sense because my cards are good/in use and not expired. I hadn't changed anything in that regard recently.
I wasn't sure what the problem was but thought, I guess I just need to re-renter my payment method again. I tried to login, and my password was no longer working. I hadn't made any changes to the password either. Tried a few times and then just decided to reset/get a new password. Finally did that and signed in.
Then I tried to enter my payment method and renew my FFXIV sub. Entered everything correctly, and then I got an Error 601 code:
"An error has occurred.
Please confirm the status of any relevant options and then try again.
For details, please contact the Square Enix Support Center.
(Error code: 601)"
I have already contacted support about this issue. But is anyone else having this experience today or know what is going on?
