Flamethrower does very little damage, doesn't build your heat gauge (despite being, ya know, a flamethrower), and forces you to stand still to channel, so you break it if you have to dodge an AoE (or if the tank does, moving the mobs in the process). You're better off spamming Spread Shot/Scattergun, to charge up for Hypercharge and Auto Crossbow.

I mean you are, you just need to cancel it after a second of casting usually cause either the tank moves the mobs out of range or you have to dodge and ofc you can't use flamethrowers while walking. That action is just a relic of the past that never got removed even tho people refuse to use it since it was introduced. The action could be an emote by now cause that is what people are using it for...
