Why do the devs hate MCH so much?

I am playing MCH since the job came out in HW and since the beginning i had the feeling that the devs do not care at all about this job. I love the aesthetic of the job but it gets "slowly" really depressing to see MCH always at the bottom even below supports, though MCH is a selfish dps without any utility whatsoever.

One of the main reasons why i have the feeling that the devs actually despise MCH is that every adjustment or "fix" to the everlasting broken state of that job is just a increase of the wildfire potency. There is no real work done on the job, just always really minor potency increases which keeps MCH still far below most other jobs which are easier to play and reward with more damage. And there is always absolute silence from the devs side until enough people complain so they push out these silly little potency buffs.

I don't know if any of you noticed the same but i see almost no players picking that job anymore like at all, heard some get even kicked from groups cause of it. I guess not many people pick the job that performs at best as good as the worst monk or reaper, while both of them have also buffs for the group and utility.

Would be nice if MCH would be for once in a good place but i can't shake the feeling off that the devs never knew where to go with MCH. But i would like to hear other peoples thoughts about this, from every MCH main i know i hear the same story, that they all feel basically abandoned.

They loved MCH so much they completely overhauled it and made it fun to play in Shadowbringers. I still find it really fun and use it as a main DPS (when I actually play DPS).

I would have to dispute what you said about the others being easier to play. I think MCH is one of the easiest, if not the easiest to play. BRD has to manage lots of different things such as DoTs, Repertoire, procs, make sure songs don't expire and MCH has to do none of these things. Between a 1-2-3 combo and a spam button, they have the rotation of a tank.

MCH is in a really good place. It's just the damage that is apparently an issue. But that seems to be a problem with the ranged physical role overall and people want them to be at the same level as other DPS.

Maybe they still good for toasting marshmallows and for what it's worth I will target any mech in PVP I see cause i hate their limit break. Add Astrologians to that dislike mentality as well.

Over the Top Hyperbole such as: "The Devs hate MCH"
Is not constructive or help anything.

I think the issue with Machinist is its damage output, despite kinda being The Physical-Ranged "Selfish DPS"
But I think Ive been hearing Ranger Jobs all have this issue, a "tax" or something, Im forgetting what it was called.
So get rid of this 'Tax' and better damage and BAM, problem solved.

Also...Bring back Stormblood Machinist.
I miss that.
