New Ward Classifications are out!

I have characters on most DC's and been around quite awhile. I don't need to check.

So then you should know there are no empty FC houses on most DCs that are still open that 'private buyers have been begging to get a shot at'. The only NA world that isn't on Dynamis that has any number of notable FC plots open is Behemoth on Primal. And they are all small Emp. Most of which are STILL not going to be open to personals with the split they have done.

This will certainly change my strategy for my Balmung shell FC. Before I thought I could afford to be bold in round 1 and still be guaranteed a small house in round 2 if that didn't work out. Now I think I'm just going to play it safe in round 1.

Incorrect, not one single ward anywhere is getting converted from Free Companies only --> Private Buyers only.

On older worlds wards 7 to 9 are switching from FC's to FC's plus Private, the effective effect there being to allow access to private buyers the still unclaimed smalls.

Wards 10-20 are getting changed from Private Only to Private plus FC's.

Those wards are already full and just means when demolition kicks in any plots that free up in those zones will be available for both FC's and personal, not that many FC's will bother competing for them as they still largely have smalls open in the lower wards they can get. Over the long haul, those wards will start to evolve into a mix of FC's and personal plots.

Overall they are gradually adding access to the still unclaimed smalls in the lower wards to individuals, and even mediums and large plots if they demolish.

About as good a changes to the wards as one can expect at this stage.

Actually some are getting changed from FC to Private. On Dynamis and other new worlds like OCE and the new EU worlds, wards 10-12 are being changed from FC to Personal.

But SlackMage is incorrect in that some wards are being reclassified to FC only, NO wards are being changed from Personal to FC only.

yeahhhh? your point? and they changed that to 1-9 FC after a while. and 25 is FC only and 30 personal only.

My post was about how the only NA world with notable FC plots left open in 1-9 is Behemoth, and only SOME of them are in 7+ which will be accessible by private buyers after the change. So this has nothin to do with the 'empty houses' in FC areas you claim are still available in bounds. And yyyeessss it applies to all areas and not just Empy. But Empy is the only area where houses CURRENTLY are available IF any are in FC areas for the most part.

What is wrong with LB-11? I'm happy with mine on Hali. And good luck if you're trying for that on Balmung.

They should have kept the current split and left it at that. All new housing would be personal. Combined with auto demolition this is fine. But now FCs get screwed over once more. Eventually the FC housing would have filled up, but due to people complaining about a few empty small houses, FCs screwed over for the foreseeable future.

Well, at least it's good in the long run for myself and my 2 FC workshops at least. Less competition and more money from submarine loot. Thanks Yoshi P!

More braindead from SE in keeping the Materia split at all. Just open the housing for everyone on the new worlds. We don't need partitioning, we have a glut of empty properties.

I personally think opening up the wards to private buyers is long overdue.

For the non-new worlds it will be interesting seeing the salt when a private buyer is up against a couple of Primals with a few gilcaps each. One doesn't find it too hard to see that worlds like Balmung get ~1 personal ward, with the other 5 for FC multi-bidders.

Strongest suggestion for old worlds - unless you have a house already and want to move, give up on your Medium/Large thoughts right now, you are up against FCs big time, go for a lovely cliffside Goblet and enjoy the views. They are lovely.
