I do agree with everything here, the only time linux has crashed on me is when I cause it, no BSOD, no lockups, large OS updates twice a year. fast security patches and huge customization possibilities.

Linux trumps windows in all areas except software compatibility and switchable graphics.

Windows is only the most popular OS because laptops ship with it, no other reason, and the reason it has better software compatibility is because it is more popular (again going back to the fact it is factory installed)

The reason OSX isn't as popular as windows as well is because Macs are so expensive compared to PCs.
That's a shame, because software compatibility isn't a 'small problem'; it's actually quite a huge problem, with all of the software, games, and other things out there that ARE NOT useable on Linux. Software compatibility is one of Linux's biggest problems, and until it's fixed, Linux will never be as huge as Windows. That's just fact.
