I'm so glad that Valve is working on bringing Steam to Linux, because they've actually contracted several AMD and nVidia engineers and worked with them to create updated, cutting edge drivers for their chipsets. What they're doing right now is going to fundamentally change the gaming market for PCs.

And it's attitudes like that, which pretty much explain why linux isn't popular and Windows is. People rather pay for something they understand then be ridiculed for not understanding something that's free

Making ports is all about time and money. It will never get a port if SE does not think enough people will buy it for that OS there fore it's a waste of time, and they will loose money in the long run.

Whaaaat? The linux community is by and large one of the most supportive and nice communities on the internet. It's generally only when you preface your discussions with "Linux sucks because" or "I hate linux because" or something similar, that they turn nasty.
