Island Sanctuary needs more sellable items on the marketboard.

If they want to incentivise us to keep playing Island Sanctuary without making us feel like it's pointless, it has to be a very reliable gil maker for us. Right now, there's just not enough stuff for us to buy and then sell on the marketboard.

You'd think they'd learn their lesson with Crystalline Conflict's pointless and unfulfilling reward system. You'd also think they'd learn their lesson from Criterion Dungeons rewards giving no gear progression despite it being much harder content.

Because let's not kid ourselves. Island Sanctuary is boring and the only engaging thing about it is becoming the Jeff Bezos of your own island. I do think it's fun. The other stuff is not. The other "features" in this game is barebones as all hell.

The upcoming updates better be good. But if they don't give us way more stuff to buy with blue cowries to sell on the marketboard, it's content that I will most likely drop for good.

We play this game to have a sense of fulfilment, but Island Sanctuary is really bad at doing that. I feel like a lot of the content these past couple patches have made us feel that way.

I want Island Sanctuary to be a reliable source of gil that I can pay for my groceries for raiding. Island Sanctuary has to be able to fund for everyones raiding experience. It has pay for our crafted gear, food and tinctures. That's what I want. I want my raiding groceries consistently paid for my efforts into this thing that you 'content'.

edit: Waiting for forum staff/mods to move this. Seems that editing this made two duplicate threads in this janky forum site.

How exactly were they supposed to learn a lesson for Island Sanctuary from content that was released after Island Sanctuary?

I'm not really seeing the transferability of lessons from one of those things to the other, anyway, when they're all different game modes with different appeals. Having sellable rewards doesn't seem to have given any additional longevity to talk of variant dungeons, at least.

It does. It rewards people for engaging with the content more. Yeah sure, I forgot criterion dungeons was released after Island Sanctuary. Although I shoehorned that statement in for a reason. Do you not seen the pattern of recent patches being rather underwhelming? The rewards for engaging in certain content has not been fulfilling. Like why would I prog criterion dungeons that is challenging, but only rewarded a stupid looking mount? Why not of weekly loot that can progress our gear? There's no good motivation in engaging in the content. I do believe that players should be motivated by a long term goal, instead of making each new content we have recently feel like very short-term goals. I'm only doing Island Sanctuary until my 500k blue cowries reward is done, and also just in case there are more mounts to buy.

For Island Sanctuary, it just needs a lot more interactivity and customisation with your own island. But I was really caught off guard that it was just a sweatshop simulator in the end. So if they're going down that route, they should at least let us use it for consistent gil making on the side. Doesn't need to make us rich. But at least it benefits us for engaging more in the content even though we really don't need to after buying the stuff we want with blue cowries.
