I consider Ranjit is the worst thing in ShB both in term of story and gameplay. Heck if I'm being bold I would even claim he's the worst thing ever in FF14. Very happy we didn't see another Ranjit in EW.

I love how it's this fight that broke em and you know not the three that happened before this. It's supposed to be kinda hard to try and show how the lack of being able to use his own aether actually affects Thancred. Also spoilers sheesh.

And it would have been ok if that was the last time we fought him. He should have been Thrance's trophy. In a way, Ranjit was the antithesis to Thrance in term they're both guardian of sort to Rin. Putting him in front of the WoL again kinda break the 4th wall for me, you know the dev put him there simply because they forced the player to lose to Ranjit for no reason earlier so they obligated to give the WoL the last say. It makes no sense in term of thematic writing.

And him being the worst MSQ fight I can remember doesn't help.
