Good day everyone,
This is more a suggestion rather than a complain about how to make Hardcore Contents worth of playing.
One of the question I asked myself recently is "why I should do the hardcore endgame contents more than once?"
Today I came up with a suggested answer that could be easly implemented.
I'm talking to give to the current savage gear the opportunity to be upgraded up to the same iLV of the new released crafted gear in the same way the latter can be upgraded to its augmented variant.
By now the crafted gear can be upgraded into its aug. variant upon delivering the normal piece and giving a specific item traded with tomestones.
It'd be the same for the aug. sav. gear apart from the specific item required which could be found or earned by a specific currency different from tomestone by doing savages when they are unlocked.
A raider could raids during the lookout to start farming the normal 600/630/700 and-so-on gear and when raids get unlocked the same raider could keep farming them to get that specific item.
Only when the X.even patch is released the savage gear would become upgradable so the HC players would not see their gear trashed away along their efforts to earn it and they'd feel actaully rewarded after month of PF's pain.
Moreover, this upgrade system would not in any way alter the farce SE has instilled to its own playerbase since the crafted gear would be still used for the casual and as a temporary substitute for the aug.tomestone; returned players would not be ignored (as if they had ever been)
There would no changes on the time-gating loot system (even if also this system has need an heavy rework).
Now, cons:
Obvs, the stats of this ipotethycal Aug.Sav. should be higher and better than the crafted one. This leads to a possible imbalance between parties with a full/partial/none Aug. Sav. team and new fights expecially during week one.
Market:
Less demand of crafted gear, less incoming for crafters. "Less", not "none". Still crafted could be usefull for returned to keep up with new contents, could be mandatory as replacement for old Aug. Tomestone.
Not a real con, to be honest.
Really, nothing more than these two cons come up in my mind to make this idea not working. The first one maybe is the strongest but at the end of the day (and I'm speaking out of my clothes) it's just a matter of balancing.
You can reply to me saying "It's difficult, time consuming. Not enough people working on it and no money to hire new ones" or any other excuses and I'd say "It's your fucking job, do it" like every time I'm told when I try to justify my laziness with some pathetic excuses.
Maybe there are other real limitations and cons about this idea, so please feel free to write them down here.
Happy raiding.
