How I would make FF 14 Better

1, MSQ. When starting a new expansion the only content you can do is the MSQ. Dont get me Wrong... I enjoy doing the MSQ but there are times where I want to take a break from doing it to do other new things in the expansion BUT you cant! You are FORCE to do the MSQ in order to do other things in the expansion which I dont think is good.. I like to take things slow on my own pace but I feel like I'm being FORCE to do the MSQ which takes away the enjoyment from me.. So now there are times where im just rushing through the MSQ just to do a dungeon...

2. I want more OPEN world content... FF 11 was my first MMO and til this day It's still my favorite MMO of all times because there was sooo much to do in the open world which I loved! The Zones in FF 14 feel Meh, They feel pointless. I never had that OMG moment in any of the zones in FF14


3. Holiday Events are so subpar, Put some effort into these events than just 5 mins quest line... I dont even consider these events.. just a quest line. I seen so much better Holiday events in other MMOS... Come on YoshyP..

4. MORE VOICE ACTING! It takes me out of the MSQ when I hear my own voice.. There shouldn't be any reason why every CS doesnt have Voice acting.. I dont get it.

5. Glamour is the worst Transmog system I ever used! We need a better system like in WoWs or Guild wars 2

When starting a new expansion the only content you can do is the MSQ.

You can do all the side content released at the end of the previous expansion. You can do pvp, the gold saucer, hunts, maps, fates, relics, roulettes, crafting, gathering, the firmament.

I want more OPEN world content...

There could be more, but I can see the design decision. In the open world, you can get too many players or too few because it doesn't pull people in from other servers. By putting everything into a dungeon, it has a fixed amount of players that is always just right.

3. Holiday Events are so subpar, Put some effort into these events than just 5 mins quest line

I find them a chore, personally, and they are done by the most casual players that only have 5 minutes to play. You can see this by checking random people's mounts or minions. They are a success because of how quick and easy they are to do. Although they are quick, they still succeed at injecting a little bit of holiday spirit into you, so they succeed at their purpose.

There have been some good ones though, such as the valentine's event that makes you do a dungeon with 1 other person, jump puzzles and a haunted house with lots of puzzles that you have to solve together without too many mistakes and some parties would actually fail it.

4. MORE VOICE ACTING! It takes me out of the MSQ when I hear my own voice.. There shouldn't be any reason why every CS doesnt have Voice acting.. I dont get it.

They have localization teams that translate from Japanese into several other languages, including Chinese, Korean, French, Dutch and English. They change the quest text regularly and because of the time it takes to get the voice actors in all of these languages to record their lines, they need to be certain that the quest text that is voiced won't change. They did voice act a lot more of it in each expansion, but the actors from ARR were changed so it might be difficult for them to get the same voice actors again.

They could voice act sidequests, but considering the amount of typos they have when they release, it might force them to delay an expansion even longer just to check for typos and they would have to cast for a lot of random, temporary characters that you will never meet again.

Dutch is the language spoken in the Netherlands, Suriname and some Asian countries, named Nederlands in, well, Dutch.
You're thinking of German, which is "Deutsch" in German.

Don't worry though, it is far too easy to mistake these two languages specifically because of this. It's the same as how some countries have very similar names for Switzerland and Sweden and mistake the two.

Having played other MMOs where holidays are a two-week-long grind-fest of repetitive dailies and seasonal boss fights with absurdly low drop rates on the good stuff (looking at you, Love Rocket on WoW), I much prefer the simple, to-the-point events we get here.

That mount is what we call predatory practice, drop rate so absurdly low it keeps you playing..and paying...chasing a mount that has less than a .05% chance for TEN YEARS.

Oh, I believe it. I was farming it every year back when I played WoW too. Never even saw it drop. (Or a number of other rare drops, like Invincible, the Raven Lord, Mimiron's Head, or any of the mounts from Firelands or Dragon Soul, but those aren't seasonal events, at least.) And I knew plenty of people who never saw drops for other mounts, like the Headless Horseman's horse or the two Brewfest mounts.

LOTRO seasonal events are actually extremely expansive and don't involve RNG. For example, Midsummer is two weeks (I think?) and just involves a main quest line where you help plan a wedding and get to be a part of the ceremony + repeatable quests to get event currency (theres like 10-15) that take place across the entire interior of Minas Tirith (like it's enormous, look up a map if you're curious and all of the buildings pretty much have their own fully decorated interiors as well). The prize pool is also like 10 pages long and features all previous Midsummer rewards on top of new ones. All you need to do is get currency and exchange for things, no locking things behind boss drops. There's also milestone rewards for doing x amount of quests during the festival. I've never loved an event as much as that, it's truly magical (especially if you're a LOTR fan).

FFs events could take a page or two from them ngl, even if it means we get less of them. At least they would be stuffed full of things to do and rewards that aren't locked behind the cash shop. Anyone curious should join LOTRO during one of the four major seasonal events (Spring Festival, Midsummer Festival, Harvestmath Festival and Yule Festival..could also include the Farmers Faire ig), they're not level locked so after the tutorial you should get the info on how to join.

FFXIV is a story driven game, its the main reason to play it. If you're not down with that then you're pretty out of step with XIV. You could always purchase a story skip tho.

World design is pretty mixed but it gets better the further in you get.

Its fine, I'd prefer to see them fix the housing design systems so they arent jank and allow you the flexibility to be more creative.
