Now that SE has announced demolition will resume when patch 6.3 is released

there are a few things that should be mentioned to hopefully prevent any problems for those not familiar with how demolition works.
When the Lodestone notice says "enter the estate", it means entering the interior of the house and not just walking into the yard of the house. Some players believed that going to their house to tend their garden without going into the house would be sufficient to reset the timer just to find their house demolished one day. Make sure you go inside the house.
While the demolition timer is supposed to be reset when the owner of a private house or a FC member of the FC that owns the house enters it, this does not always happen. We don't know why the bug occurs, only that it does sometimes.
If you need to reset the demolition timer for your house to prevent a demolition, after you enter the house double-check the Estate Timers in your Timers list (as shown in the Lodestone topic) to make certain your timer has reset. If it does not, interact with an interactive furnishing inside of your house such as a Summoning Bell. This should cause the timer to update.
Because there is no way of telling when this bug will occur, it is a good idea to get in the habit of checking the Estate Timers at least one a month. (As an example, I also check my Estate Timers when I go into Timers after weekly reset to see what my Custom Deliveries for the week will be.)
Important: tenants entering a private estate do not reset the demolition timer. It is only reset by the owner entering.
Just because you do not receive an email regarding a pending demolition does not mean your house is safe. There have been multiple reports of players never receiving an email even though their correct email address is on file. There have also been multiple reports of players without a house getting demolition notice emails for houses they have never owned or for FC houses when they've never been part of the listed FC.
It is far better to refer to the Estate Timers to check the status of your house than wait for an email.
