why is the p8s loot so expensive?

It's taken me so long to prog this in party finder, and now I'm looking at another 15 weeks of grind to get the 2 items from there. Why is the weapon and chest coffer 8 books? Would it really be such a crime to lower it to 6 or 4, and allow the hard core week 1 people to get their best in slot items a little bit sooner? This feels so punishing to people like me who raid in party finder, and can't ever seem to roll above a 50 on a coffer since I have to roll against 7 others every week. I cleared the fight. Why do I now have to slog through it for 3 more months to get the loot?

chest coffer could stand to be lowered to 6, but weapons should remain at 8 books.

as always, the faster people get what they want, the faster they leave. if they leave, they may not come back.

if you leave because you didn't get what you want right away, at least you stayed longer than what you would have had you gotten what you wanted earlier.

Ultimate. As of right now, unless you had been on the grind for multiple weeks in advance you essentially can't participate in the most recent Ultimate, regardless of skill level.

If one can't manage to get a static to guarantee full Savage BiS in a timely manner, they're just asking for a bad time with Ultimate.

This, if someone is not able to clear savage in a timely manner, then they are most likely not able to get far in a fresh ultimate.

I remember PF being nice enough to pass on loot when someone still needed it, and when that player did well.
I had my first BiS usually ready after 6 weeks when doing PF.

That also depends on how many itemslots you need from tomestones + upgrading them, when you're in a static usually all the DPS gets their stuff first so i went 3-4 weeks without getting anything from raids.

Someone who'd be genuinely good players to have for a fresh ultimate but had to depart until like a week before the ultimate came out would need to be binned then unless being fed all the gear + some luck for a week or two.

I think that's kinda sad, I have a couple of ppl who are like that right now. They came a bit late to the party to no fault of their own and are behind on gearing, but I have done Ultimates with them and they are basically entirely gated by gear right now.

To enter the ultimate you need to have the current savage cleared.
And if you have a group for ultimate but are late for the gearing, then you just do it once with that static and get all the loot.
And the ultimate will not be cleared within a week, so you have multiple weeks to get the BiS.

My sub is expiring just before 6.4 and nonsense like this is one of the reasons why. BiS is nice to have, but up to 2 months after clearing the current raid tier in a game where you aren't even allowed to see your performance or damage for a weapon only +5ilv over tome? Absolutely not.

If you got your weapon faster, you'd simply start going for BiS again with an alt. Nice variety with a small end goal.

So why the heck is it on such a lofty pedestal?

(But let's be honest, we all know the real reason. People farm BiS for fflogs. Chasing logs isn't to show off either, no one else cares, but more of a goal for personal accomplishment and something to keep content that is otherwise completely pointless worth running long term. SE just can't acknowledge it. Silly grinds for gear isn't keeping raiders logged for Savage long term. Logs and "evil" third party is.)
