WTF bought friend the digital DL...NO CD KEY OR DOWNLOAD OFFERED! Who has done this?

Just bought my friend the digital download through the SE store. He payed for it (with my card) and it said purchase will be processed in the order it was received. And that was it. He was never prompte to download the game and was never given a registration key.

And then he realized it never even asked for an email address. He contacted SE via chat and they told him to talk to Digital River, but he couldn't get through to them. He called SE and was on hold for 40 minutes only to be to told to contact Digital River but this time was given a good contact email. He emailed them and hasn't heard back.

For those of you who bought through SE, how did it go?

Eww Digital River. Tera was distributed through them, that was a horrid experience. They never gave you a tracking number and you had to seemingly jump through hoops to find one.

Haha I know this is insane. The thing is he can just use my discs to install the game, the cd key is the problem. Thought they woulda learned their lesson back in the play online days that this crap dosen't cut it. They've got so many differnet websites for EVERYTHING

Did you get an order confirmation code? If so use that when you contact DR. If that does not work and/or DR refuses to provide the information, contact your CC company and put a stop on that charge stating the product ordered was not delivered and after contacting the company they were of some/little/no help.
At the least you will recoup your money. Outside of that I recommend Amazon or Game Stop or Best Buy or what ever local video game store/site is available to purchase your code.

Everything should of been offered to you when you purchase off the original site. You will receive an email with the information and you will get a conformation page right after you purchase it. It just sounds like your friend didn't follow directions very well.

They should team up with steam for 2.0, it would make things much easier for everyone.

SE outsources so much stuff from their payment system to downloads. This really isn't the way to get new customers when people can't even buy the game.
