Jumping the gun a bit bud. We don't know IF the textures are sacrificed really, it's educated speculation maybe, but it's still speculation. That said nothing stops them from a texture ora texture upgrade down the line.

No harm in getting this out there early.

I am 99% positive we'll be losing out on some of the quality, due to making it more friendly with consoles and the dynamic lighting. Its basically just a sacrifice that has to be made.

Im not saying I dont think that 2.0 looks great, it does. Theres just graphic whores like me who would love this option. Eventually the graphics will look a bit outdated anyways, this would also keep that from happening sooner.

People like you make asking for possible texture upgrades in the future a bad image. Graphics aren't what makes the game fun, it just adds another level of immersion for others who care.

I'm aware graphics don't make the game fun. Neither do textures.

If all it takes for you to get immersed into a game is an updated floor texture, then I envy you. Usually it takes more than an image file for me.

Eventually I would love to see a HQ texture pack for the game but chances are we might need to turn to the community for that eventually.

If the game gets popular enough I'm sure the .dat moders will be in full force as they were in XI...hell I did a few .dats back in my day.

That would be good if it came down to it, maybe I could give it a shot one day if it came down to it.
