    FFXIV Launcher Script Error

Hello and thank-you in advance for your help,
I run FF14 on Windows 7 and not through Steam.

Yesterday and today I kept encountering login and server issues so foolishly decided to uninstall IE11. I then encountered Launcher Script Errors so installed Edge, uninstalled Edge and re-installed IE11 again, but still keep getting the script errors.

I get approx 18 errors when trying to open up Launcher:
An error has occurred in the script on this page.
    Line: 1
    Char: 2610/1464/4393/4300/1004/7119/917/15530/17972/16862/2474/731/1376/14317/2751/1974/2759/1973
Error: Expected identifier, string or number
    Code: 0
    URL: https://launcher.finalfantasyxiv.com...cbbf.bundle.js

To try and rectify this I followed the steps given by support in a previous thread (https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...or#post6080166), but none of these helped resolve the situation. As mentioned I have reinstalled IE11 today. After following the above steps I also uninstalled and reinstalled FF14 but once again when I open the launcher it still brings up these errors.

Any advice you can provide on this issue would be truly appreciated.

    Greetings llaletin,

I'm sorry to hear that you've been experiencing issues with the launcher. I would like to apologize for the inconvenience. It seems that the game launcher is having trouble loading up properly. I would recommend uninstalling Internet Explorer 11 and replacing it with Microsoft Edge and keeping Edge fully updated then try to proceed with the following settings once more:

    1. Open the Control Panel, and go to ‘Network and Internet’. Once there select ‘Internet Options’
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC after. Once restarted, try running the game as an administrator.

Then try to run the launcher once more after all the settings have been set. I do hope this helps and thanks for posting in the FINAL FANTASY XIV Technical Support Forums.

Thank-you for your reply - unfortunately the suggested fix didn't work, but I was able to force Windows 10 onto my aged machine and that may have resolved it all for now; the Launcher has worked fine and I will renew my subscription after Christmas to check that I can log in okay.
