DX11 client has no audio, doesn't close.

    ****SOLVED?****

I ran into weirdest bug. At some point, randomly, my FFXIV directx 11 client stopped playing any sound. And some other stuff doesn't work.

    Identifying factors:
    - bug present only on dx11 client, not dx9
    - dx11 client doesn't close on exiting game, goes into black screen but continues working
    - game produces no sound, but for some reason FFXIV A realm reborn cutscene works with audio
    - it's a steam client
    - problem appears for the 2nd time, first time it just fixed itself after days of failed repairing attempts
    - nothing out of the ordinary was done to produce the bug, last time game was working in normal conditions

    Solutions, which doesn't work:
    - restoring game data
    - clean installation of FFXIV, drivers, Windows, Steam
    - reseting game settings
    - disabling/deleting all overlay programs
    - changing different audio settings

I cannot provide System Information log, because clicking it in my launcher does nothing. If there is some other info I can or should provide, pls tell me.

If somebody can help me with that, I'm at mu wits end and relying on problem fixing itself is not the solution.

    --------------------------------------------
After closing game in windowed mode and then reloading with my controller plugged off sound is back. Can't tell what was the reason, but it works now.

    Greetings fellow Eorzean,

I'm sorry to hear that you've been experiencing audio issues. Have you tried updating your PC's audio drivers by any chance? If you have, it might also help to uninstall and reinstall any sound drivers you have. Also, please be sure to set the desired audio device to 'Default' in your devices sound settings. I would also suggest trying to perform a clean boot on the PC to see if any other programs might be interfering with the game's sound. To do this, start by opening up your Task Manager, and navigating to the 'Start Up' tab. Once there, disable all applications listed, and restart the PC.

I hope this helps! Thank you for posting in the FINAL FANTASY XIV Technical Support Forums!
