An unexpected error has occured. Exiting FINAL FANTASY XIV.

This occurs every time I load into the game. It isn't immediate, but after an indeterminate amount of time between 1 and 20 minutes, this error will occur and send me to the desktop. No specific location or activity seems to cause it. My diagnostics never show a spike in CPU or GPU usage when it occurs, nor does any lag seem to precede it.

I have tried all the fixes I have found suggested, including changing or updating drivers, running as an admin, lowering graphics, reinstalling and redownloading, running in a window instead of full screen, and resetting character and configuration settings.

Having the same problem, exactly. Here is a screenshot of the error.

Do a files check from the Config: Config -> Restore Data. It redownloads and installs corrupted files. Just make sure you backup your hotbars and all that just in case. You can do that by copying the character files in the Documents/My Games/Final Fantasy XIV folder: all the FFXIV_CHR folders are your character data like hotbars, glam plates, job swap stuff, etc. You can copy those and place em on your desktop for a while. Generally that's from a corrupted file or files.
