Why do you still play FFXIV?

Not being facetious, Im genuinely curious to hear why people still play FFXIV despite the myriad of problems.

For me its:

1. Mostly because I have grown sentimentally attached to my WoL characters, so I enjoy playing them and coming up with all sorts of stories to fit with a personal headcanon aka. I like this game's world and lore a lot.

2. Im a filthy controller user, always have been, always will be, and not a lot of MMOs out there have a comfortable and intuitive setup for playing with one. So coming into FFXIV and being able to play with my PS4/PS5 controller on PC is a huge boon for why I enjoy physically playing this game, when it comes to combat, navigating menus and traveling around

3. Doing group content is extremely easy imo. As someone whom doesnt generally play online multiplayer games, FFXIV made me like the concept and its overall a comfortable experience where the game's difficulty is very casual friendly and doesnt require a ton of effort to clear.

4. The music

I have been playing the game since 1.0. No other mmo comes close. I enjoy it. I think that sums it up.

- It has had its drastic changes & yet never felt compelled to quit

- Social atmosphere feels more inclusive & populous

- Probably one of the last MMO “bastions” that still presents to be strong (Age of MMOs are under decline & WoW is no longer at its peak)

- One avatar & all jobs at once is a huge luxury (spares my mental stress to ever bother with alts)

- Still hopefully this game may brighten its horizons further upon 7.0 & beyond (Loved ShB; disgusted with EW)

started playing this game at 2.0/arr its been a long fun ride decent dungons and raids with some nice events thrown in between overall a decent game.

Still the one of the best options of mmos that I can play with a horrid work/life schedule, too many others mmos dont have that kind of luxury without lossing out on a lot of major content...

Approaching my first anniversary of being a FFXIV player here.

As for why I've kept coming back:

- Incredible MSQ
- Sensible, sustainable, business model unlike some of the awful so-called 'Free to Play' models out there
- One character being able to play any/all jobs
- Very friendly in-game community (definitely noticed this since am still pretty terrible at the game as a whole!) and I've made some great friends this past year
- Phenomenal music
- Cash shop limited to optional items
- NO LOOTBOXES (by that I mean cash-shop gambleboxes) - a real boon for me personally, as I absolutely abhor gambleboxes!

The game honestly enagages me in ways I never experienced elsewhere and I'm definitely here to stay!

Because of the people of the forums and the people of Balmung. I talk to both and I treat the game as more of a social activity more than I game to play since i've done all I care to do. The only people I see or able to talk to are people who come into my store...and most of those people are...well they suck.
