What about an option to reject savage content loot?

    So I've had a thought:
What If we've had an option to give up rewards?

I'm thinking about having a tickbox to just give up on rewards for current-savage content. This is useful for everyone having a static raid group, who wants to practice a fight without ruining everyone elses loot.
If you receive the loot the system behaves just as it is now, meaning you only get 1 out of 2 chests for 7/8 and so on.
This would enable me and probably many others to practice raid fights without being afraid of "accidentally killing the boss".

Think it through. You have an 8 person static. 7 of you tick the “give up rewards” button. One person gets 2 chests of loot, you can then do it again either with that person or sell a clear to a random and get 1-2 chests again. This system would be so open to exploits.

You can avoid ruining everyone's loot if you choose raid days on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so you can pug Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Having raid days be Tuesday and Monday means any pugging at all has a chance to ruin their loot.

If you could reject loot, it would have to force you to roll Need on it, but then not put it into your inventory if you win it. That way it recreates the effect of 8 people rolling, but still makes you not receive it.

They obviously mean a group wide setting that removes loot. You know, no chests appear at all.

    Stop being weirdly obtuse.

The best option really is that each chest has a 100% chance to spawn. This chance decreases by 12.5% for each person in the group with a clear. So if 2 people already had the clear, there's a 75% chance for each chest. If you didn't get a chest, it's similar to the chance of losing a loot roll to a valid 8th member of the group.

You can't abuse that system because you still only get one loot roll per week. So people with a clear can't touch the chests that drop. You can't take 7 people with a clear and try to carry one person for loot because they'll only get a 12.5% chance. But if you help some friends, you're only affecting their loot chances by a fair amount instead of halving them.

But you also couldn't abuse a system where, if you've cleared, you automatically roll Need on the loot but then it says "unable to receive" if you win and destroys the item.

Honestly I just need them to let me kill the bosses in any order if I've previously cleared them, or up to them, the prior week. The loot issue sucks but your idea could be easily messed with to funnel gear to one player and then repeat that for all members.

If it’s a group wide setting then you already have a full group that has agreed it’s not a clear. At which point just… don’t kill the boss? It’s a savage raid prog not a guildhest where someone using a single GCD can kill a mob at critical health, you’re likely not killing it before enrage and if you are then, well firstly you probably don’t need the practice and second you can just wall yourself at 5%.

No, what OP is asking for is a personal setting so they can join peoples learning parties and not worry about them clearing so they can still go with their static later. But again, that is so open to abuse.

This woudn't work since you'd still have people killing the fight with half their mains and half their alts, and then the other way around to get geared up faster.
Just don't join 2 chest parties if you already cleared. It's annoying from the other side, and even if you promise that you'll stop DPS and leave before it dies, there's no guarantee and no way to punish you if you do decide to screw over everyone else anyway.
