With the technology and ability to manipulate aether, do we really limit possible sports on Etheirys to archery competitions and Blitzball?

I'm not knocking Blitzball. I played that from dusk to dawn back in the day. It's just not something I'm looking to pick back up.

I don't PvP, but I believe that content makes a strong candidate for how major sports would work in this realm. There are the Chocobo races, and also the Hippo riders as well. But those would be more of a local/regional ordeal. The Skysteel Manufactory would undoubtedly have some kind of marksmanship competitions knowing those rootin' tootin' S.O.B.s.

Since the sport is called "kick the heretic", that wouldn't cause them to stop. That just made it exclusively an in-chapel event.
