You literally cannot guarantee me that random chance will turn out a certain way.
You're the one leaping to personal attacks over genuine misinterpretation of a statement.
I absolutely can. I refuse to believe one can have such horrid luck over the course of 4 months. Rolling on the EX mount, sure... getting a particular dungeon piece will happen before that time is up.

Trusts / Duty Support are the way to go. No waiting, no sharing Loot.
Someone call the Forum Police! Because I wrote passive aggressively that DT looks not good. Oh how right I was!

Depending in the number of pieces available, and the number of items dropped we can make an estimate though.
Lets say for all 5 roles its 12 pieces, that means 60 in total. When each time you play by average you get 5 items. As duplicates can drop, we cant say a 1/12 chance per run though. We realy need to count the number of drops instead, and each drop thats about 1.5%. Now lets say we do 10 runs, which means 50 items have been dropped, this gives about 52% chance of it dropping.
But it doesnt end there, you have to still win the odds against other players. For tanks/healers this is easy in 4man duties (100%), but for a dps, that can halve the chance again. Those 10 runs might already be 20 here for equal odds.
And now we can make things even worse, since its not just duty time to consider, its also queue time. A 10min queue and then 20min duty means those 20 runs already take 10 hours. And that for just a single piece!
Randomness can be an absolute pain, because its not the majorty that is unhappy, its only those that had realy bad luck. And for those people they might have tried 100 attempts easily. Horrid luck is simply just part of the statistics of luck, if it wouldnt exist, then the RNG would be based and not be completely random (which is often exploitable and therefor undesired). For EX mounts they have those tokens for that very same reason, as those tokens will simply break any bad luck streak as after 99 completions, you are guaranteed the reward.

Trust aren't really the way to go for repeated runs, even in the limited range of 50/80 dungeons where they are available, unless you can't get a group together. The lower levels are often quicker to run solo than with a synched party – up to at least level 69 and presumably some of the 70s can be comfortably cleared with a solo level 90 – and the 80 dungeons are best done with an unsynched group.
Also, my understanding is that trust runs drop less loot overall, though I'm not sure if that means less left-side gear or less jewellery. If it's "less everything" then the trade-off of trusts is that you will get everything that drops but there are less opportunities for a specific item to drop. That would suggest that your better bet for a specific piece is to run solo OR with a player group to maximise chances of it appearing, while playing the role that will allow you to Need on it.
This still doesn't change the fact that you only have one guaranteed 1-in-14 chance per dungeon run to get any particular item, with an unreliable chance at a second 1-in-14 drop.

We're talking older content though, so it can be unsynced. The task becomes even shorter when the piece you want drops earlier in the dungeon.Depending in the number of pieces available, and the number of items dropped we can make an estimate though.

I've done a fair bit of farming for myself and others. I've had several occasions where I'm helping someone out and they get what they want first run. I know things can take a while to drop though. It took me a long time to get the Striking top to even drop in Troia.
I only brought up EX as a comparison point because you'll have 7 other people after the same thing, where dungeons have one possible competitor and alliance is 3 at most.
To my previous point: If you can't get the dungeon piece you want between now and April, it's something wrong on your end and you're likely not running it much. The OP proposal is to have dungeon gear on a thrice a year event and even that would likely be limited to one dungeon and even one or two jobs. It's an overreaction to a problem that doesn't really exist.

Duty Support goes from Level 15 - 57 and Trust from Level 71 - 90. If you are Level 75+ you can run all Dungeons between Level 57 - 70 with an Unrestricted Party (Solo).Trust aren't really the way to go for repeated runs, even in the limited range of 50/80 dungeons where they are available, unless you can't get a group together. I farmed all Tower of Babil Gear and Weapons + all Troja Gear (every single Job) and the Drop was fine. 5-7 Items per Run. Don't know what problem everyone have. Better 5-7 Items per Run for yourself as to share 8-10 Items between a Group.

Weren't some of the Bonewicca sets in one of the previous moogle tome events? I'm too lazy to log in to check right now.
