I can strongly relate to this & glad I am not the only one!My group strays away from the main story stuff, like yeah certain canon events have happened but we as a whole generally have nothing to do with it. We all separate the WoL character from our RP characters and just exist as completely different characters within the world of 14. Beyond that we just... act out scenes in character as we wish.
Someone will say in discord something like "Anyone want to RP?" and someone will say sure and be like "where? what are we doing/what's the scene?" and just go from there.
Vencio isn’t a WoL nor took part of any MsQ events sorts as his story is far separate & different (whilst within ffxiv respectful lore).
Ok...so I finished my carrd. I had a little fun writing this one up. SOrry for any grammar, spacing, or whatever. Writing isn't my strong point.

Me and some friends are going with a multi-WoL story in relation to the MSQ with our characters, including our alts. Sorta replicating what Ardbert and his friends were in concept, so its been pretty fun writing our own stories based on that.
I do the same thing with my own friends. I'm not a roleplayer (not anymore that is) and I do not like the current RP climate that is present in XIV, but I do enjoy writing stories and interactions with my friends about all the whacky hijinks and emo moments our characters have together in and out of the MSQ.
I had a fun RP session with a friend at an RP venue where we were normal adventurers talking about the mundane tasks we did and the sometimes interesting adventures we made up while drinking at the bar. Was fun just acting like what you'd expect everyday people in the game would be doing instead of being essentially the god of the world the game makes you.
Some roleplayers don't like the whole "I am the WoL and everyone else isn't" but honestly, you do you if that's what you want. A lot of people just rp normal people or people from around the world... or people that want to look normal but aren't (Garleans, ancient magic users, etc.). I'm one of the ones who doesn't really care how far you bend the lore, as long as you have fun doing it and can find people to rp with.
Heck yeah!Ok...so I finished my carrd. I had a little fun writing this one up. SOrry for any grammar, spacing, or whatever. Writing isn't my strong point.

...and yes, I knew that the treants have buttholes, it never fails to make me laugh. Right up there with the fact that goobbues have absolute dumptruck arses.
I used to do a lot of roleplay, but life has taken me (and/or RP friends) away from it multiple times. Now I'm on Seraph for a fresh start and am trying to find out how to RP here. My impatience and anxiety kind of win here because I don't know where anyone is and just chalk it up to it being the holiday season and people are with their friends and families then I give up and dance around on other games.
Rissa is.. Rissa. Anxious and timid yet calm and collected, she matches the energy of the people she's around and tries to be a little beacon of hope. Most of my RP is performing tarot readings for those who would like them.
If you were to enter a dark room with obstacles in the way, wouldn’t you want the option of having some light to see the problems in front of you instead of bumping into them in the dark? Message me to schedule a tarot reading!
Us Balmung residents will always notice the....finer details. Some roleplayers don't like the whole "I am the WoL and everyone else isn't" but honestly, you do you if that's what you want.
