Dynamis Time Zone

Hi everyone, I play on the new Dynamis cluster group, both Maduin and Seraph, and was wondering why the time zone is 18 hours behind US central time zone?

As far as im aware most people are using EST on Seraph, east coast US?

I just checked on Seraph to be certain, and the ST(Server Time) is currently 1:10 AM, Central Time is currently 7:10PM, and I know that the Server time itself is 18 hours behind because of the Jumbo Cactpot drawing.

ST isn't local time. You want LT. There are 3 different time options.

Server time is UTC. Its not 18 hours behind... its 6 hours ahead of you lol.




All servers use UTC for time.

No, it's UTC like all of them.

Because the central US time is UTC -6 hours.

I suppose a person in your timezone could view UTC as -18 hours without context (such as the date).

As stated above, 'server time' is not the timezone of the geographical location of the data centre, the term is a complete misnomer. It's GMT/UTC (+00 hours), regardless whereever the data centre is (so JP, AU, EU and NA 'server time' is all the same). It issomething that can definetely catch the unaware off guard though.

But for future reference, these are the three time options for the game:

'ST' or 'server time': GMT/UTC+00 hours.
'LT' or 'local time': this is the time set according to your system, i.e. whatever time your PC/Mac, PS4 or PS5 is currently set for.
'ET' or 'Eorzea time': this is the in universe fast clock for the game. This does not equate to real time as it's greatly sped up.
