FFXIV on Xbox

It’s a similar story to Fortnite; basically Epic Games refuses to pay fees/commissions to be on certain platforms (Fortnite has been taken out of the AppStore entirely). Also, as it is popular, a lot of systems make exceptions to play it at no additional cost (no Nintendo online/PlayStation plus required).

All that said, Xbox DOES require its extra service to play.

So, given all the options, would someone buy XBox over PS5 to play the game if it meant larger sub fee? And are there that many people with Xbox exclusively (no PC/PS5) that would be interested in doing FFXIV?

I don’t know, but I’m sure the devs have an idea of the numbers and consider if the dev work to port to Xbox is worth it. Thus far, the answer seems to be “not so much”, as they surely wouldn’t just ignore stacks of money waiting to be had.
