FFXIV on Xbox

if it does come to pass, maybe 8.0. doubt it'll be 7.0 with the graphical update supposedly happening then

either way i'm kinda looking forward to it if it happens; i have a bunch of friends in US i've known for over 15years through Xbox, and some of them expressed interest in trying out XIV.

If I remember correctly, YoshiP WANTED to put FFXIV on Xbox.
The issue was apparently Microsoft wanting to do make you pay for the Sub AND Xbox Live Gold. While on PSN you dont need PS Plus to play, just the game, and manage your Sub.
This is "apparently" the Roadblock.

That's no longer a thing, Spencer finally got past it and before EW released Yoshida said they have the green light, they just need time to actually work on the port and they were busy with EW's release first.

Just a +1 to Xbox not really being a thing in Japan. I can't remember the last time I even saw one on a shelf in an electronics store. Switch and PS4/5 have entire aisles...

That, and FF is still apparently a nonfactor among Xbox users, after XIII was neutered on the 360 and XV sold almost all of its copies on the PS4. At least with XIV they can just continue playing it on PC.

1. prob will only available on xbox series x|s, since xbox one is weaker compare to ps4 (probably a stupid reason, but whatever)
2. microsoft only want xbox players play with other xbox players (which is kinda against what phil spencer said about wanting more cross play feature in future games)

Same here, my best friend IRL is a hardcore achievement hunter on Xbox & I'd love to get him on FFXIV, more players is exciting news to me.

Also if it turns out I can't get a PS5 then I'd love to have the new Xbox as an option to play this game, still hoping during tax time I can get a PS5 though.

Microsoft only wanting it for Xbox players is no longer a thing and they're fine with mixed platforms.
